UGC Video Editor | Performance Ad Creative for Meta Ads

We are Dominate Next, a performance marketing agency based in Scotland. We help direct-to-consumer ecommerce brands across the UK, US and Australia scale through Meta ads and performance creative.
We are hiring a UGC Video Editor who can turn raw creator footage into scroll-stopping ads that convert.
This is not a “make it pretty” role. This is not a cinematic editing role. This is not a YouTube or podcast editing role.
This role is about pacing, clarity, rhythm, retention and making ads feel native to TikTok, Reels and Meta feeds while still driving action.
You will work closely with our creative strategy team, who will provide briefs, raw creator footage, examples, hooks, angles and direction. Your job is to turn that into strong short-form ads that can be tested in real Meta ad accounts.
What you will do
- Edit short-form
- Create around 15 short-form videos per week.
- Build multiple versions quickly using different hooks, pacing, clips, and structures.
- Add native-feeling captions, on-screen text, simple motion, sound design and light effects.
- Improve raw creator footage so the final ad feels sharp, clear and engaging.
- Keep edits aligned to the creative brief and client brand guidelines.
- Take feedback quickly and make revisions without ego.
- Repurpose strong footage into new variations and angles.
- Work closely with our creative strategists, designers and paid social team.
What we need from you
Must-haves
- Very proficient in CapCut. This is our preferred editing workflow.
- Strong understanding of UGC, Reels, and paid social ad editing.
- Strong sense of rhythm, flow, pacing and retention.
- Sharp attention to detail, especially captions, cuts, framing, audio levelling and spelling.
- Strong written English.
- At least 1 year of experience editing D2C UGC and paid social ads.
- Reliable and fast internet connection.
- Able to follow a brief closely while still bringing your own editing judgement.
Big plus
- You have edited direct-response ecommerce ads for Meta.
- You understand performance creative basics.
- You know how to make the first 3 seconds stronger.
- You can identify when a video feels too slow, too scripted or too polished.
- You can repurpose one piece of footage into several different ad variations.
- You have experience with beauty, wellness, food, drink, home, lifestyle or supplement brands.
- You have basic knowledge of motion graphics and AI.
This role is probably right for you if
- You enjoy editing short-form ads that are designed to perform.
- You understand that a good ad needs more than clean visuals.
- You care about pacing, hooks, clarity and viewer retention.
- You can take feedback and improve quickly.
- You like working in a fast-paced creative team.
- You want a stable, long-term role where your edits are tested in live ad accounts.
This role is probably not right for you if
- You mainly edit YouTube videos, podcasts or cinematic reels.
- You only want to make aesthetic lifestyle videos.
- You do not have examples of UGC, TikTok, Reels, or paid social ad edits.
- You struggle with captions, spelling or written English.
- You need very detailed instructions for every small edit.
- You do not like fast feedback or revisions.
- You are not interested in e-commerce, Meta ads, or direct response creative.
Working setup
- Full-time remote contractor role.
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Long-term position if you perform well.
- You will have some overlap with UK working hours.
- You will be part of a small, high-performance creative team.
- You will receive direct feedback and clear creative standards.
- You will invoice us monthly as an independent contractor. You are responsible for your own tax and BIR registration in the Philippines.
Pay
- $700 to $800 USD per month depending on experience, speed and quality.
