Part-Time Residential Estimator (Australian Residential Construction)

About Us
Davis Constructions is a well-established custom residential builder based in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. We specialise in delivering high-quality custom homes and are expanding our operations through the use of experienced remote professionals.
We are seeking an experienced Residential Estimator with proven knowledge of the Australian residential building industry to assist with preparing accurate cost estimates for new home projects.
Initial Engagement
The successful applicant will initially complete three residential estimating projects on a trial basis.
Following a successful trial, we expect to offer ongoing part-time work as our pipeline of projects continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
? Prepare detailed residential construction estimates from plans and specifications.
? Produce accurate Bills of Quantities and material take-offs.
? Prepare pricing using Buildxact software.
? Review plans and identify missing or unclear information.
? Liaise with our management team regarding estimating assumptions and pricing.
? Assist with estimating variations and client design changes.
? Continuously improve estimating templates and pricing databases.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
? Demonstrated experience estimating Australian residential construction projects.
? Advanced working knowledge of Buildxact estimating software.
? Strong understanding of Australian residential building methods and terminology.
? Ability to accurately read architectural and engineering plans.
? Excellent attention to detail.
? High level of written and spoken English.
? Reliable internet connection and suitable home office.
Highly Desirable
? Experience pricing custom homes.
? Experience working remotely with Australian builders.
? Knowledge of Australian building codes and construction practices.
? Experience using Microsoft Excel and PDF mark-up software.
? Quantity surveying or estimating qualifications.
