JOB OVERVIEW

Hello!

I’m Jesse, a real estate company, based in the Twin Cities of Minnesota in the USA, but I come from a creative background; musician, photographer and videographer. I've taken that experience and grown my business over the past 6+ years, and I have been lucky enough to find a few incredible remote employees from the Philippines primarily as video editors. My relationship to them has been so valuable to me and still is, but now I'm hoping to find some more help, specifically with some very detail oriented video editing for a new video series I'm adding to our channel.

The primary thing I'm looking for in an editor is talent and a creative eye and an ability to work with large video sessions, often editing 20-40 minute videos that includes talking head footage, b-roll as well as screen recordings and map graphics that YOU will be responsible for tracking down and/or creating. Over the years, I find video editors often want to work with multiple clients, and that's okay with me as long as my videos are a priority to you, and you can get them done in a timely manner - typically one long form videos per week or two, plus a couple short form videos derived from the main video. If a full time position would work better for you, please let me know and we can discuss what that can look like. As a team we have a LOT of videos to edit.

I started a business because I was tired of having bosses who didn't care about my goals and ambitions. For that reason, it is very important to me to provide an employee with the ability to grow and increase their income and improve their position in life through hard work and creative problem solving. I am hoping to find somebody driven and hard-working who has a keen, creative eye and will be invested in the success of our business, and I will reward that effort and dedication. I have filmed and posted over a thousand videos in the past 6 years, and I've edited many many more before that, so I'm very familiar with the workload and process, I just need a great partner to help me get it done.

If we have an interview, I will ask you to perform a test edit from the raw video files I have - typically working in 4K Sony log footage. If you aren't familiar with color grading, and editing with music, dialogue, b-roll and large file sizes, I'm not sure we'll be the right fit as there's a learning curve to some of these basics.

One last thing - include as much variety as possible in your portfolio. It's entirely possible you aren't the right fit for this project, but perfect for a different video series.
