About Sax School Online
Sax School Online is a leading online saxophone learning platform for adult learners, with 2,000+ video lessons, a tutor team, and a thriving membership community. Our YouTube channel is our primary acquisition channel and we’re now significantly scaling our content output.
We produce educational content that’s clear, trustworthy, and built for adults who take their musical progress seriously. If that’s the kind of work you want to be associated with, read on.
The Role
Got serious YouTube editing skills and can read a little music? We’re scaling up production at Sax School Online — one of the UK’s leading online music education platforms — and we need a talented editor who wants to be part of something growing. If that’s you, read on.
The founder’s primary focus is filming. Your job is to take that raw footage and turn it into polished, engaging YouTube content — consistently and to a high standard. This is a fully remote role with a clear workflow for footage delivery, briefing, and feedback.
This is not a one-off project. We’re building a content machine and need an editor who wants to grow with it.
You’ll be responsible for:
Editing ~8 long-form YouTube videos per month (typically 8–15 minutes)
Producing 12–20 YouTube Shorts per month from existing footage
Adding captions, lower thirds, music, and graphics to a consistent house style
Cutting B-roll, notation overlays, and on-screen text to support music education content
Delivering files on agreed turnaround schedules
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Strong portfolio of YouTube content editing — long-form and Shorts
Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve — this is our primary editing software
Comfortable working remotely with a structured brief and feedback process
Reliable, self-managing, and communicative
Highly desirable:
Ability to read music — even basic notation literacy is a genuine advantage
Experience editing music education or instructional content
Familiarity with Shorts / vertical video formats
An interest in music or music education
What We Offer
Stable employment with a proven thriving business.
Fully remote working — you manage your own time and schedule
Clear briefs and well-organised footage; the founder’s job is to make your job easy
Creative input welcomed — this is a collaboration, not a factory
Opportunity to grow the role as content output scales
Our Hiring Process
We keep it simple and fair:
1. Application
Send us your portfolio and a short Loom video (2–3 minutes) telling us who you are and why you’d be a great fit for this role. The Loom is important — it’s our first chance to see how you communicate and whether you’ve genuinely engaged with what we’re building.
2. Paid edit test
Shortlisted candidates will be given a real footage clip and a clear brief to edit. We pay a flat fee for your time. This is where the role is won — we’ll compare outputs and choose the best fit.
3. Decision
We move quickly. You’ll hear from us either way.
How to Apply
Send the following to
A short written intro — who you are and what you’ve worked on
Links to 2–3 YouTube videos you’ve edited (long-form and Shorts if possible)
A Loom video (2–3 minutes) — tell us why you’d be a great fit for this specific role
Your preferred monthly retainer rate
Your availability and earliest start date
