About Us
The Sourcing Co. is a Singapore-headquartered sourcing and supply company with offices across Singapore, China, PNG, and Australia. We work across three verticals: apparel manufacturing, branded merchandise, and industrial/commercial supply. Joinery is a significant and growing product line for us - we source and supply custom joinery products to our clients, manufacturing through our supplier network in China.
The Role
We need a skilled Joinery Drafter who can take Australian architectural and interior design drawings and convert them into precise, fabrication-ready shop drawings that our Chinese manufacturing suppliers can build from without ambiguity.
This is a specialist, high-impact role. You sit at the critical translation point between what our Australian clients want and what our Chinese factory produces. If that handoff is wrong, the product is wrong. We need someone who understands both the Australian joinery industry standard and what a Chinese fabricator needs to see on a drawing to execute correctly.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Receiving architectural and interior design drawings (plans, elevations, sections) from Australian clients and our sales team
2. Translating these into detailed joinery shop drawings / workshop drawings ready for fabrication
3. Producing drawings that include: elevations, sections, joinery details, material callouts, hardware schedules, finish specifications, and fixing/installation notes
4. Coordinating with our internal team and China-side suppliers to resolve any drawing queries or clarifications
5. Managing multiple jobs in parallel, meeting turnaround targets
6. Maintaining a clean, organised drawing register and version control system
7. Flagging scope gaps, missing information, or specification conflicts before they reach the factory floor
What We're Looking For
1. Proven experience producing joinery shop drawings, specifically for the Australian market
2. Solid knowledge of Australian joinery standards, construction methods, cabinet construction, and hardware (hinges, runners, handles, locks)
3. Strong working knowledge of common joinery materials: MDF, plywood, solid timber, veneers, laminates, stone tops, glass
4. Proficient in AutoCAD (required) -- SketchUp, Polyboard, or Cabinet Vision is a plus
5. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, interior design documentation, and specifications
6. Strong attention to detail and understanding that drawings go direct to a factory -- errors cost real money
7. Comfortable working remotely, managing your own time, and communicating via WhatsApp and
8. Experience working with or for manufacturers (China experience is a bonus, not required)
Nice to Have
1. Previous experience drafting for Chinese manufacturing suppliers
2. Familiarity with metric-to-metric translation and how Chinese factories interpret Western specifications
3. Basic understanding of manufacturing tolerances and flat-pack vs assembled joinery
What to Expect
1. Full-time, remote role based in the Philippines
2. Direct reporting line to our Group GM in Singapore
3. Fast-paced, project-driven environment -- we move quickly and expect the same
4. Opportunity to grow with a business that is scaling its joinery supply line aggressively into Australia
5. Competitive salary based on experience and proven output quality
How to Apply
1. Send your application with the following:
a) Your CV
b) A portfolio of joinery shop drawings you have personally produced (minimum 3 examples -- annotated drawings, not renders)
c) A short note (5 to 10 sentences) explaining your experience with Australian joinery projects specifically
Applications without a drawing portfolio will not be reviewed.
