- Apply to multiple grant opportunities per day when qualified opportunities are available.
- Draft strong, customized grant applications that clearly explain our business, impact, goals, use of funds, community benefit, and alignment with the grantor’s mission.
- Help improve our grant application strategy over time with the goal of reaching a 10% or higher grant win rate.

- Write persuasive but accurate responses that include data, measurable outcomes, community impact, and clear use of funds.
- Make sure each application is tailored to the specific grant and not generic.
- Track follow-up opportunities after applications are submitted.
- Suggest ways we can become more “grant ready,” including improving our business plan, pitch deck, data, impact reporting, budgets, program descriptions, and documentation.
The ideal candidate has:

- Experience with grant databases, government grant sites, corporate grant platforms, or funding research tools.
- Ability to write in a clear, compelling, and strategic way.
- Comfort working with a fast-moving small business team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to ask smart questions when clarification is needed.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to track applications, deadlines, documents, and follow-ups without being reminded.
Preferred experience:
- Experience with small business grants.
- Experience with women-owned, minority-owned, creative, education, entrepreneurship, workforce development, or community impact grants.
