JOB OVERVIEW

Senior Accounting Specialist (Hospitality)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist to support the cleanup and reconciliation of financial records for a hospitality organization with multiple business units.

Responsibilities:
Reconcile bank accounts and bring financial records up to date.
Review, organize, and correct historical accounting data.
Process and reconcile Purchase Card (P-Card) transactions.
Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
Assist with vendor payment reconciliation and accounts payable cleanup.
Reconcile payroll data from Paylocity and map payroll entries to the General Ledger.
Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Work closely with the Accounting Officer to execute a structured catch-up plan.
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress regularly.

Qualifications:
5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Strong experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
Experience cleaning up backlogged or incomplete financial records.
Proficiency with payroll reconciliations and GL mapping.
Advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Hospitality, hotel, resort, or property management accounting experience.
Experience with M3 accounting software.
Experience with Paylocity payroll.
Previous Controller or Senior Accountant experience is a plus.

Bring approximately one year of accounting records up to date.
Organize and reconcile Purchase Card transactions.
Complete overdue bank reconciliations.
Reconcile payroll entries and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Support ongoing accounting improvement initiatives after the cleanup project is complete.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys untangling complex financial records, improving processes, and bringing order to incomplete accounting systems.
