We run quickly-growing health and beauty brands that sell through short-form ads on Meta and TikTok. We're hiring a full-time video editor to cut raw footage as well as generating AI b-roll/UGC into high-retention direct response ads. This is a long-term role on a small, motivated, focused team.
The job is simple to describe and hard to do well: stop the scroll in the first three seconds, hold attention through a 30 to 60 second sell, and make the viewer feel something strongly enough to buy. We care about hold-rate and watch-time, not film-festival polish.
What you'll do:
Cut raw footage (UGC, talking-head, B-roll, screen recordings) into scroll-stopping ads, with fast turnaround
Nail the first three seconds: the visual, the on-screen text, the pattern interrupt, the open loop
Pace for retention: tight cuts, no dead air,
Layer captions, sound design, zooms, and visual emphasis that guide the eye
Work from the strategist's brief and script, and iterate fast on winners with new hooks and intros
Treat hold-rate as your scoreboard on every cut
What we're looking for:
You've edited short-form ads that actually ran on Meta or TikTok, and you can show them
You're fast and you hit deadlines without disappearing into perfectionism
You understand pacing in direct response is a tool, not a style choice
You can take direct feedback like "this hook isn't landing, recut it" and act on it quickly
You can run with a tight brief and speak up when something is unclear
Comfortable in Premiere, CapCut, After Effects, or similar (tell us your stack)
The setup:
Part-time (good fit and performance will transition into full-time), fully remote, paid holidays
Room to grow as the brand grows
A strategist who briefs you properly, and a founder who gives clear, direct feedback
How to apply:
Start your message with the word HOOKED so we know you read this.
Send your portfolio or reel in any format you like (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, your choice).
Include the single best hook you've ever cut: link the ad or its first five seconds, and one line on why it worked and what it did.
We read every application that follows these three steps.
