We are a US-based travel startup. This is a long-term role for someone who wants to grow with us.
THE ROLE
This is a project management role at its core. You keep the team and our projects on track: you run our boards daily, you know what is due, what is late, and who owns it, and you chase down anything slipping before it becomes a problem, without waiting to be asked. When project work is quiet, there is admin to keep the operation running smoothly. The thread through all of it is the same: nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
WHO THIS IS FOR
The most important trait is backbone. You have to be comfortable being mildly annoying to other adults to get things done. You will message someone "this was due yesterday, what is the status?" without flinching and without needing me to approve it first. If you are organized but conflict-averse, this is not your role.
Also:
- Genuinely fluent with technology. We run on cloud tools and AI, and we move fast. If your instinct is to manually copy and paste your way through a task, this is not the role.
- Ruthlessly organized. You do not lose track of things, and you do not let others lose track either.
- Proactive, not reactive. You see the slip coming and head it off.
- Clear, direct communicator. Strong English.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- Fluent or quick to learn in ClickUp or a similar tool.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in project management, operations, or executive/admin support.
- A track record of managing people or contractors to deadlines, or coordinating work across a team.
- Able to work full US Pacific business hours.
- A quiet, dedicated workspace, free of distractions and interruptions.
- Reliable computer and internet.
WHY IT IS WORTH IT
Get in early, own your work, and share in where we go.
HOW TO APPLY
Read the whole post first. I am screening for the attention to detail this role demands.
1. Start your application with the word "Compass" so I know you read to the end.
2. How do you use AI in your work? Be specific about tools and what you do with them. If you use Claude, tell me how.
3. Record a short video (2 minutes or less) introducing yourself and telling me why you would be good at this. I want to hear how you communicate.
Applications that skip questions or the video will not be read.
