The HR Generalist is responsible for the accurate, day-to-day administration of the company’s human resources functions, with particular emphasis on payroll integrity, benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle support. This is a full-time, dedicated role requiring consistent availability, meticulous attention to detail, and ownership of recurring audits and reconciliations. The HR Generalist serves as a reliable point of contact for employees and management and ensures that all HR processes are executed completely, accurately, and on schedule.

## Essential Duties and Responsibilities
### Payroll & Paychex Administration
- Process and review full-cycle payroll through Paychex, ensuring accuracy of hours, rates, deductions, and tax withholdings each cycle.
- Conduct thorough, documented audits of Paychex data on a defined schedule (e.g., each pay period and monthly), reconciling discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
- Maintain accurate employee records in Paychex, including new hires, terminations, status changes, and compensation updates.
- Generate and review payroll reports, flagging anomalies and resolving issues proactively.
- Ensure payroll-related compliance filings and records are complete and submitted on time.
### Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Reconcile benefits invoices against enrollment records and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions.
### Compliance & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee files and HR documentation.
- Support compliance with applicable labor laws and internal policies.
- Assist in preparing for and responding to audits, ensuring documentation is accurate and readily available.
### Employee Lifecycle Support
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all steps are completed and documented.
- Support recruitment activities as needed, including job postings, scheduling, and candidate communication.
- Respond to employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
### Reporting & Accountability
- Track and report on assigned HR metrics and deliverables.
- Provide regular status updates to the supervisor and maintain transparent records of completed work.

## Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, **or** equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum **3 years** of hands-on HR generalist experience, including direct payroll processing.
- **Demonstrated, hands-on experience with Paychex** (or comparable payroll/HRIS platforms) including running and auditing payroll.
- Proven ability to perform detailed reconciliations and audits with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong working knowledge of HR practices, payroll fundamentals, and benefits administration.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet, a suitable home-office setup, and the ability to maintain a consistent full-time schedule with the required time-zone overlap.
## Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based employers and familiarity with U.S. payroll and compliance practices.
- Experience working remotely with distributed teams.

## Work Environment & Expectations
This is a fully remote, full-time position.
