JOB OVERVIEW

Department: Merchandise Planning
Reports To: Merchandise Planning Manager
Location: Remote (Work from Home)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM, aligned with Australian business hours (AEST)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandise Allocator to join a growing Australian fashion business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, inventory, and product performance while being part of a premium retail environment.

You'll work closely with the Merchandise Planning team to ensure the right products are available in the right locations at the right time. If you enjoy problem-solving, analyzing sales data, and making commercial decisions that directly impact business performance, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing
- Allocate inventory across retail stores and eCommerce channels.
- Monitor stock levels and product availability to ensure optimal inventory distribution.
- Manage replenishment of bestselling products.
- Analyze sales performance and inventory data to identify opportunities.
- Assist in maximizing sell-through while minimizing excess stock and markdowns.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales, stock, and allocation performance.
- Work closely with planners and cross-functional teams to support seasonal trading.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and allocation data.
- Support planning activities and other merchandise-related administrative tasks.

What We're Looking For
Must-Have
- At least 1 year of experience in a Merchandise Allocator, Merchandise Assistant, or similar inventory planning role.
- Previous experience within the fashion, apparel, retail, or consumer goods industry.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, reporting).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have
- Experience supporting both retail and eCommerce inventory allocation.
- Experience working with ERP, inventory management, or merchandise planning systems.
- Knowledge of retail KPIs such as sell-through, stock turn, weeks of cover, and replenishment.
- Passion for fashion and retail.
