ABOUT THE ROLE
We need a production-grade graphic designer who combines the execution speed of a machine with genuine design thinking. You'll be handling a high volume of templated design work — social ads, website banners, PDFs — while also being the person who catches when something 'just looks wrong' and knows how to fix it.
We've worked with designers before who treated our briefs literally and produced mediocre work. We're not looking for someone to fill a template with text and call it done. We want someone who considers layout, typography, iconography, color hierarchy, and image selection as a unified system — and brings that discipline to every asset, no matter how routine.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Recurring Production Work
• Update monthly
• Produce banners for social media and website placements across both our Canadian and US-facing brands
• Maintain and update a library of PDF documents — price sheets, information guides, multilingual materials — correcting errors, updating pricing, and improving layout as needed
Design System Stewardship
• Own and maintain our Figma file library: templates, brand assets, component sets
• Source and vet Figma assets, marketplace templates, and stock imagery — with a genuine aesthetic eye for what works
• Ensure consistency in typography, color, and image treatment across all assets
Design Thinking & Layout Improvement
• When given a brief, think past the literal request — consider how content should be grouped, what visual hierarchy makes it easiest to read, and whether icons or supporting graphics could help
• Apply this thinking to both new and legacy assets: our best work has come from rethinking the structure, not just prettifying what exists
Freelancer Coordination
• Source and manage Fiverr or similar freelancers for specialized work (custom illustrations, diagrams, etc.)
• Brief external creators, review their output against our standards, and manage revisions
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator — not just familiarity, but genuine fluency
• Strong sense of layout, grid systems, typographic hierarchy, and color
• Ability to select and crop images well — this matters more than people expect
• Experience with template-based production at volume
• Reliable, deadline-driven, and communicative — if something comes up, you say so
