Remote Email Designer (Contract-Based)

Work Monday–Thursday and Enjoy Permanent 3-Day Weekends

We're Silk Email, a growing email marketing agency working with eCommerce brands across the US, and we're looking for an experienced Email Designer to join our creative team.

This is a production-based contractor role. You'll be paid per completed email design and will work with our team on an ongoing basis across multiple client accounts.

We're looking for someone who takes design seriously, understands email marketing, works efficiently without sacrificing quality, and can consistently deliver polished work in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Designing marketing emails for US-based eCommerce brands
- Turning briefs and feedback into polished, conversion-focused designs
- Maintaining visual consistency across client brands
- Creating occasional supporting assets such as banners, headers, promotional graphics, and GIFs
- Collaborating remotely with our team through Slack and project management tools

What We're Looking For

- Strong Photoshop skills (Photoshop is the primary design tool for this role)
- Proven experience designing marketing emails
- Strong understanding of email marketing design principles
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong typography and layout skills
- Experience working with brand guidelines
- Reliable computer capable of handling large PSD files
- Reliable internet connection
- Strong written English communication skills

Strong Plus

- Experience designing emails for eCommerce brands
- Mobile-first email design experience
- Understanding of image-to-text ratios and email rendering limitations
- Experience working with US clients or international teams
- Figma experience
- GIF animation or After Effects experience

This Role Is Not For You If

- You are a beginner designer
- You primarily focus on social media graphics
- You struggle to meet deadlines
- You dislike feedback or revisions
- You are unable to manage multiple design requests simultaneously
- You are looking for occasional one-off freelance projects rather than ongoing work

Compensation

- $10 USD per completed email design
- Most designers complete between 3 and 4 emails per day
- Consistent volume of work available for strong performers

Work Environment

- We operate as a collaborative remote team with clear deadlines, feedback processes, and quality standards.
- We're looking for designers who communicate well, take ownership of their work, and can consistently deliver high-quality designs on time.
