About Mother's Ruin
We're a small independent gin distillery and bar in London. We run regular events, private hires, tastings and a busy neighbourhood bar. We're looking for a proactive, organised person to help grow our online presence, increase bookings, and manage customer enquiries. This role combines social media marketing, event promotion, customer communication and administration. This is a long-term position for someone who enjoys taking ownership and helping a small business grow. Currently the role is 20 hours per week, but as we grow there is scope for the role to expand into a broader full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content
• Manage Instagram and
• Plan and schedule posts, stories and reels
• Create engaging content promoting our bar, gin, events and private hires
• Repurpose existing photos and videos into social content
• Monitor engagement and respond to messages and comments
• Explore and potentially launch TikTok activity
• Help grow local awareness, followers and engagement
Events & Bookings
• Manage venue hire and event enquiries
• Respond to customer enquiries via
• Coordinate with customers before events
• Maintain the events calendar
• Update listings on platforms such as Tagvenue and DesignMyNight
• Ensure all event information is accurate and up to date
Marketing
• Create flyers, posters and promotional graphics using Canva
• Promote upcoming events and seasonal campaigns
• Update website and online listings when required
• Identify local promotional opportunities and partnerships
• Support initiatives that drive bookings and bar sales
Administration
• Manage booking inboxes
• Produce simple weekly reports
• Assist with ad hoc business tasks
Ideal Candidate
Essential
• Excellent written English
• 1 year+ experience managing social media accounts for a business
• Strong Canva skills
• Highly organised and reliable
• Comfortable working independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to communicate professionally with customers
Desirable
• Hospitality, events, food & beverage or alcohol industry experience
• Basic video editing skills
• Experience with Meta Business Suite
• Experience managing booking enquiries or customer service inboxes
• Can spot growth opportunities

Working Arrangement
