Job Title: Fashion Stylist Assistant — Wardrobe Sourcing & Styling Support (Part-Time, Remote)
About the role
I'm a personal stylist and image coach with a growing client roster, and I'm looking for a talented stylist assistant to help me source and build out client wardrobes. I map out each client's direction — coloring, silhouettes, proportions, the specific pieces they need — and you bring it to life by finding the right items online and helping complete cohesive outfits.
This isn't data-entry sourcing. It requires a real eye: an understanding of color, fit, body types, and how pieces work together. Some clients I'll hand you a precise list to fill; others I'll give you a looser map and want your ideas.
You should be comfortable with both.
The goal is to take the time-heavy sourcing work off my plate so I can focus on strategy and take on more clients. For the right person, this is a long-term, growing role.
What you'll do
-Source specific pieces I've mapped out for clients (e.g., "a longer A-line skirt in a muted earth tone," "long-sleeve knits in X palette") by searching online retailers
-Work from a brand/retailer list I provide (primarily US-based, but not exclusively) — and intelligently find comparable pieces elsewhere when needed
-Complete outfits by filling gaps in a client's wardrobe with pieces that work together in color, proportion, and style
-Build moodboards that capture a client's direction and proposed looks
-Contribute ideas when invited — for some clients I'll want your styling suggestions, not just execution
Stay organized across multiple clients and keep sourcing options clearly presented (links, images, notes on why each works)
Who I'm looking for
-Trained/experienced stylist — please share a resume, portfolio, or examples of styling work
-Strong grasp of color theory, body types/proportions, and fit
-A genuine eye and point of view — creative, with good instincts about what works
-Able to follow direction precisely when I give a specific brief, and contribute thoughtfully when I open the floor
-Resourceful and fast at finding pieces online; knows how to search well and dig past the obvious
-Familiar with US fashion retail (or able to learn a brand list quickly)
-Reliable, communicative, works independently once briefed
Hours & Rate
Part-time to start, ~10–15 hrs/week, with room to grow as my client load grows
RATE BASED ON EXPERIENCE— tell me your rate when you apply (IM HAPPY TO PAY WELL FOR EXPERTISE)
Long-term role; performance raises and year-end bonus for the right fit
To apply, please answer:
send me your portfolio plus your Instagram and/or Pinterest
-Tell me about your styling background — share a resume, portfolio, or links to work you're proud of.
-How do you think about dressing different body types? Give me an example of styling for a specific shape.
-Where do you shop/source online, and how do you find a specific piece when the obvious searches don't turn it up?
Paid Test Task (paid for your time):
I'll give you a short client brief — coloring, body type, and 2–3 specific pieces I need sourced. You'll:
-Source each piece — send me 2–3 options per item with links, images, and one line on why each works
-Build a simple moodboard for the client's direction
-Suggest one piece I didn't ask for that would complete the look, and tell me why
This shows me your eye, your sourcing skill, and whether you can both follow a brief and think for yourself.
