JOB OVERVIEW

SEO Specialist with Content Writing Experience – Remote (Freelance)

We are two Sydney-based businesses looking for an experienced SEO specialist to help grow our organic search presence.

Kmelectric is a licensed electrical contracting company with over 20 years of experience serving residential and commercial clients across Sydney.

Inner West Vision is our security installation brand offering CCTV, alarm systems, intercoms and access control for Sydney homes and businesses.

Both businesses have established websites with existing content. We need someone who can audit our current state, identify gaps and opportunities, and deliver measurable improvements in local search rankings. You will also be writing and optimising content in this role.

This is a freelance role. You will work directly with the business owner.

What You Will Be Doing

- Conduct a full SEO audit of both websites
- Identify and fix on-page SEO issues across both sites
- Research and refine keyword targeting for local Sydney search terms
- Write and optimise page content, blog posts and service pages
- Optimise meta titles and meta descriptions across both sites
- Build and manage local citations and directory listings
- Manage and optimise our Google Business Profiles
- Develop and execute a local link building strategy
- Monitor rankings and organic traffic using Google Search Console and Google Analytics
- Provide a clear monthly report on rankings, traffic and work completed
- Identify new content opportunities to target additional keywords

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of SEO experience
- Proven experience with local SEO for service-based businesses
- Strong content writing skills — you must be able to write clear, natural English that does not sound AI-generated
- Strong understanding of on-page SEO, technical SEO and link building
- Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Business Profile
- Familiar with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush or similar
- Ability to work independently and deliver results without constant supervision
- Clear reporting and honest communication about progress
- Excellent written English

Bonus Skills

- Experience working with trade or home service businesses
- Knowledge of WordPress SEO plugins such as Yoast or Rank Math
- Experience with Australian local SEO

Pay

$12-$15 USD per hour, depending on experience. This is a freelance arrangement. Hours will vary based on workload.
