Content & SEO Specialist
Key Responsibilities
Write marketing-focused content that entices travelers to book — including cruise line pages, cruise ship pages, departure port pages, and promotional landing pages
Write, edit, and maintain website content including cruise line, cruise ship, departure port, and destination pages and other site content
Research and develop new content opportunities based on SEO, customer interests, cruise industry trends, and business priorities
Create, publish, and maintain blog content focused on cruising, destinations, travel planning, and cruise industry topics
Repurpose written content into other formats, including podcast scripts, marketing content, and other digital content assets
Manage, source, and update image and video library
Source and select appropriate images from approved image libraries and cruise line resources to support website and blog content
Ensure all content follows SEO best practices, including keyword targeting, metadata, internal linking opportunities, and content optimization
Review and update existing content to maintain accuracy, freshness, and search visibility
Collaborate with the Marketing team on campaigns, promotions,
Ensure content supports business goals, user experience, and conversion opportunities
Proofread and quality-check all content prior to publication
Utilize AI-assisted content tools where appropriate while ensuring all content meets CruiseDirect quality standards
Manage content calendar
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience writing marketing content for websites, blogs, and digital marketing channels — with a focus on driving customer action
Strong SEO/GEO knowledge, including keyword research, on-page optimization, content strategy, and content audits
Experience researching and creating content across multiple topics and formats
Mastery of grammar, punctuation, style, and writing for the web
Ability to source, evaluate, and select visual assets that support content objectives
Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing workflows
Experience using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or similar tools to evaluate content performance
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Able to work collaboratively across Product, Marketing, and other departments in a remote environment
Experience with a project management system (Asana, Jira, or similar)
Nice to Have
Cruise industry or travel industry experience — writing with authority and insider knowledge
Personal cruise travel experience and familiarity with major cruise lines, ships, and destinations
Experience with Drupal or similar CMS platforms
Experience creating or supporting podcast, video, or multimedia content
Familiarity with AI-assisted content creation tools
Technical Requirements:

Stable wired broadband (no satellite or wireless). Broadband internet connection (DSL or cable) Note: Satellite, Dial-Up or wireless is not allowed. You will be required to test the connection
Chrome browser, sound card, speakers, 15" monitor (2 preferred).
Backup power solution (generator or equivalent) in case of outages.
