SketchUp Designer / 3D Space Planner & Millwork Draftsperson
About Us

We are a growing general contracting and construction company specializing in residential and commercial projects. We are looking for a talented SketchUp Designer and Millwork Draftsperson to help us create 3D visualizations, furniture layouts, room designs, space planning concepts, and detailed millwork drawings.

The purpose of this role is to help us clearly present and obtain client approval on designs before construction begins, then develop approved millwork and cabinetry designs into accurate drawings that can be used for fabrication and CNC production.

This is a long-term position for someone who enjoys turning ideas, sketches, and plans into clear visual presentations and detailed production-ready drawings.

Position Type

This position will begin on a part-time, as-needed basis, with work assigned based on project demand. As we continue to grow and establish a strong working relationship, there is an opportunity for the role to expand into a consistent part-time or full-time position.

We are looking for someone interested in a long-term relationship with our company and who can grow with us over time.

Responsibilities
Create accurate 3D models using SketchUp
Develop furniture layouts, room layouts, and residential or commercial space plans
Model custom cabinetry, millwork, furniture, built-ins, reception desks, and other construction-related elements
Convert floor plans, sketches, field measurements, and design concepts into accurate 3D models
Produce client presentation renderings and visual concepts for approval before construction begins
Revise models based on client and team feedback
Develop approved cabinetry and millwork designs into detailed shop drawings
Prepare accurate millwork elevations, sections, plan views, details, and dimensions
Create cabinet construction drawings showing panels, shelves, drawers, doors, toe kicks, fillers, hardware locations, and material thicknesses
Prepare cut lists, part labeling, edge banding requirements, and finish notes
Create CNC-ready millwork drawing packages and/or files that can be provided to a CNC operator or fabrication shop
Organize SketchUp files, drawings, and project documentation
Work closely with our construction, design, and fabrication teams
Required Skills
Strong SketchUp experience
Ability to create accurate architectural, interior, cabinetry, furniture, and millwork models
Ability to read and understand floor plans, elevations, construction drawings, and field measurements
Experience creating millwork shop drawings and cabinetry production drawings
Understanding of cabinet construction, joinery, material thicknesses, edge banding, hardware, and fabrication requirements
Ability to create accurate CNC-ready drawing packages, cut lists, and part labels
Good understanding of scale, dimensions, and space planning
Experience with residential and commercial interiors
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good English communication skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with Layout for SketchUp
Experience with Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion, or Twinmotion
Experience with Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, Microvellum, SketchUp CNC/export workflows, or similar cabinetry and CNC software
Interior design, architectural drafting, cabinetry, millwork, or fabrication background
Construction industry experience

This is not a graphic design position. We are specifically looking for someone who can create accurate architectural, interior, furniture, cabinetry, and construction-related 3D models for client approval, and then develop approved millwork designs into detailed shop drawings and CNC-ready production documentation for fabrication.
