The Role
We’re looking for an AEO / SEO Specialist who knows how to make content win, not just in Google, but in AI-powered answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews. You’ll own the strategy and execution behind organic visibility: building topic authority, optimizing existing content, and writing new assets that rank, get cited, and convert.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Manager and collaborate with our content contributors, developers, and subject matter experts to drive qualified traffic and generate leads.
What You’ll Do
• SEO & AEO Strategy
? Develop and execute a content strategy that grows organic traffic, topical authority, and AI answer placements across priority keyword clusters.
? Conduct keyword research using SEMrush and Ahrefs; identify high-intent, commercially valuable opportunities aligned to our buyers.
? Build and maintain topic cluster maps, content calendars, and a pipeline of net-new and refresh opportunities.
? Monitor industry shifts in how AI engines surface content (AI Overviews, LLMs, PAA) and adapt strategy accordingly.
• Content Creation & Optimization
? Write and optimize long-form blog posts, service/landing pages, and FAQs structured for both traditional SERP and AI answer surfaces.
? Apply AEO best practices: entity-rich language, structured Q&A, clear definitions, TL;DRs, and concise direct answers that AI engines can easily cite.
? Implement and coordinate on-page SEO: title tags, H-tags, internal linking, anchor text, alt text, meta descriptions, and image optimization.
? Implement schema markup (Article, FAQPage, HowTo, VideoObject, Course) in coordination with the development team.
? Audit and upgrade existing content to improve rankings, engagement, and AI citation frequency.
• Technical SEO
? Conduct regular site audits to identify and resolve crawlability, indexation, page speed, and structured data issues.
? Work with developers on site architecture, redirect management, canonical tags, and Core Web Vitals improvements.
? Monitor and maintain a healthy site via Google Search Console, GA4, and SEO audit tools.
• Measurement & Reporting
? Track and report on organic sessions, keyword rankings, AI mention/citation volume, featured snippet share, and assisted conversions.
? Deliver regular performance updates to the Marketing Manager with clear insights and recommended actions.
? Use data to continuously prioritize the highest-impact content and technical work.
What You’ve Done (Qualifications)
• 3–6 years of hands-on SEO experience with a documented track record of growing organic traffic and rankings in a B2B environment — be prepared to show before/after data (SaaS, eLearning, or professional services a plus).
• Proven AEO expertise: experience writing specifically to capture AI Overviews, LLM citations, and featured snippets, not just traditional SEO rankings. Concrete examples of content that landed in AI answer surfaces are a strong plus.
• Portfolio of long-form content (blogs, pillar pages, landing pages) backed by real performance data: rankings, traffic growth, or conversion impact, not just writing samples.
• Proficient with SEMrush and/or Ahrefs for keyword research, competitor analysis, and site audits; comfortable in Google Search Console and GA4.
• Working knowledge of schema markup and how to implement or coordinate structured data updates.
• Comfortable with HubSpot CMS (or similar) and basic HTML/CSS for on-page formatting and implementation.
• Strong writer with editorial judgment: you can produce publication-ready content, not just keyword-stuffed drafts.
• Bonus: Experience in L&D, corporate training, or HR tech; familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or AI productivity tools.
How We’ll Measure Success (KPIs)
• Growth in organic sessions, non-brand keyword rankings, and share of AI answer placements.
• Increases in featured snippet captures, PAA presence, and topical authority scores across priority clusters.
• Content output velocity: quality-optimized assets shipped per month and time-to-publish on new content.
• Conversion contribution: organic-attributed leads and assisted conversions from content you own.
Tools You’ve Used
SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, GA4, HubSpot CMS, Microsoft Word, schema generators, and AI writing/research tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot).
