The Opportunity
We are looking for a Financial Systems Accountant to support accounting system implementation and financial data migration projects for US-based companies.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with systems, reconciliations, financial data, and process accuracy. You will help ensure that data moving from legacy accounting platforms into a modern ERP is complete, accurate, and compliant with US GAAP.
You will work closely with US-based finance stakeholders and implementation teams to support clean, reliable, and successful system transitions.
What You’ll Do
• Support financial system implementation and migration projects from an accounting perspective
• Extract historical financial data from platforms such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, and similar systems
• Clean, organize, and map financial data to the new chart of accounts, general ledger, entities, and reporting structure
• Prepare journal entry, trial balance, opening balance, and historical transaction uploads
• Map accounts, vendors, customers, departments, classes, locations, entities, and other financial dimensions
• Upload and validate bills, invoices, contracts, and supporting accounting schedules
• Reconcile financial data between legacy systems and the new ERP
• Perform detailed reconciliations across cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other key accounts
• Compare source-system closing balances against opening balances in the new system
• Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies before go-live
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance throughout the implementation process
• Collaborate with internal teams and US-based finance stakeholders
• Communicate progress, risks, blockers, and reconciliation issues clearly
• Document workflows, migration steps, reconciliation logic, and quality-control checks
• Support multiple client projects while maintaining strong ownership and accuracy
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
• 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience
• 1+ years of US GAAP experience
• Hands-on accounting experience across reconciliations, general ledger, AP, AR, month-end close, or financial reporting
• Experience working with accounting systems, ERP platforms, financial system implementations, or accounting data migration projects
• Experience working with US-based companies, clients, or accounting teams
• Strong reconciliation experience, especially with large volumes of financial data
• Strong understanding of US GAAP principles, standards, and regulations
• Experience ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance across accounting workflows or system-related projects
• Proficiency in at least one accounting platform such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, or a comparable ERP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Comfortable working directly with US-based clients and stakeholders
• Strong project coordination, follow-through, and ownership skills
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight
Strongly Preferred
• Direct exposure to ERP implementation, accounting system migration, or finance transformation projects
• Hands-on experience with financial data extraction, mapping, cleanup, validation, and reconciliation
• Experience supporting companies as they transition from one accounting platform to another
• Background in a CPA firm, bookkeeping firm, outsourced accounting company, SaaS company, or ERP implementation environment
• Experience working with large transaction volumes or multi-entity accounting
• Familiarity with SaaS accounting concepts such as ASC 606, deferred revenue, ARR, MRR, and revenue waterfalls
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent accounting certification
Who Will Thrive in This Role
You are someone who enjoys working at the intersection of accounting, systems, and data accuracy.
You do not just want numbers to move from one system to another — you want them to be correct, reconciled, explainable, and ready for use by finance teams.
You are detail-oriented, structured, and comfortable working with complex datasets, imperfect historical information, and fast-moving implementation timelines. You communicate clearly, take ownership of discrepancies, and care deeply about financial data quality.
