JOB OVERVIEW

The Opportunity

We are looking for an ERP Migration Accountant to support financial data migration projects for US-based companies.

This is a hands-on accounting role focused on moving historical financial information from legacy accounting systems into a modern ERP platform. You will be responsible for ensuring that financial data is complete, accurate, reconciled, and ready for go-live.

You will work closely with implementation teams and US-based finance stakeholders to migrate balances, transactions, accounts, vendors, customers, and reporting fields with a high degree of accuracy.

What You’ll Do

• Support accounting system migration projects from legacy platforms into a modern ERP
• Extract historical financial data from systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, and similar platforms
• Clean, organize, and map financial data to the new chart of accounts, general ledger, entity, and reporting structure
• Prepare journal entry, trial balance, opening balance, and historical transaction uploads
• Map accounts, vendors, customers, departments, classes, locations, and entities
• Upload and validate bills, invoices, contracts, and supporting schedules
• Reconcile financial data between the source system and the new ERP
• Perform detailed reconciliations across cash, AR, AP, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other key accounts
• Compare closing balances in the legacy system against opening balances in the new ERP
• Identify, investigate, and resolve migration discrepancies before go-live
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance throughout the migration process
• Collaborate with internal implementation teams and US-based finance teams
• Communicate migration issues, risks, blockers, and progress clearly
• Document migration steps, reconciliation logic, and reusable workflows
• Support multiple migration projects while maintaining strong accuracy and ownership

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience
• 1+ years of US GAAP experience
• Hands-on accounting experience across reconciliations, general ledger, AP, AR, month-end close, or financial reporting
• Experience supporting ERP migration, accounting system migration, implementation, finance transformation, or financial data migration work
• Experience working with US-based companies, clients, or accounting teams
• Strong reconciliation experience, especially with large volumes of financial data
• Strong understanding of US GAAP principles, standards, and regulations
• Experience ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance during migration or implementation projects
• Proficiency in at least one accounting platform such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, or a comparable ERP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Comfortable working directly with US-based clients and stakeholders
• Strong project coordination, ownership, and follow-through skills
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight

Strongly Preferred

• Direct client-facing ERP migration or accounting system migration experience
• Experience moving financial data from one accounting platform to another
• Hands-on exposure to financial data extraction, mapping, cleanup, validation, and reconciliation
• Background in a CPA firm, bookkeeping firm, outsourced accounting company, SaaS company, or ERP implementation environment
• Experience working with large transaction volumes or multi-entity accounting
• Familiarity with SaaS accounting concepts such as ASC 606, deferred revenue, ARR, MRR, and revenue waterfalls
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent accounting certification

Who Will Thrive in This Role

• You are someone who takes full ownership of migration accuracy.
• When balances do not match, you do not simply flag the issue — you investigate the source, trace the data, understand what changed, and help resolve the discrepancy.
• You are comfortable working with messy historical data, large transaction files, and tight migration timelines. You bring structure to ambiguity, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and take pride in producing financial data that teams can trust.

Why Join Through MAVI

• Work with high-growth US companies shaping the future of finance and accounting
• Build specialized expertise in ERP migration, financial data integrity, and accounting transformation
• Gain experience working with US-based finance and implementation teams
• Take on meaningful, high-ownership work with direct business impact
• Work remotely while contributing to complex migration projects
• Receive ongoing support from MAVI throughout your placement, onboarding, and long-term journey
