About the Role

The Onboarding Accountant is responsible for managing the end-to-end financial onboarding process for new clients. You will work closely with clients, previous accountants or bookkeepers, and internal stakeholders to ensure accounting records are accurate, reconciled, and ready for transition to our ongoing service delivery team.

You will serve as the bridge between a client's previous accounting function and their new outsourced finance department with Solve Outsource.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage client onboarding projects from commencement through completion.
Review accounting records and assess the current state of client accounts.
Complete catch-up bookkeeping and accounting work when required.
Reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors, VAT, payroll, and balance sheet accounts.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, errors, and historical issues.
Liaise with clients and third parties to obtain required information and documentation.
Support accounting software migrations and data transfers.
Work across cloud accounting platforms including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and other industry-specific systems.
Ensure onboarding procedures, documentation, and checklists are completed accurately and on time.
Prepare detailed handover notes for the ongoing client service team.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of onboarding processes and best practices.
Build strong client relationships and create an outstanding first impression of Solve Outsource.

Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements

Must be a CPA
Must have 3-5 years related experience in Accounting and leading a team
Strong understanding of bookkeeping, management accounting, and financial controls.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and/or Sage.
Excellent reconciliation and analytical problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple onboarding projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
