We are an established Amazon agency (20+ years) managing premium and heritage brands in tabletop, glassware, home, and gift. We are hiring an experienced image and design specialist to create and improve listing images, A+ content, and video for these brands.
The core challenge here is different from commodity or private-label work: our products are expensive and often look like generic versions of themselves in a flat photo. A $90 hand-finished ceramic bowl can look identical to a $15 one on screen. The job is making a shopper understand the price difference through the images alone. If your portfolio is mostly text-heavy feature infographics for commodity products, this is not the right role.
What the role involves:
Full image sets: main image, lifestyle and in-context shots, feature and scale callouts, collection cross-sell, and branding and proof images (stamps, gift boxes, made-in, designer, patents, warranty)
A+ content and storefront visuals
Video, including AI-assisted editing of human-shot footage, with correct scale and no artifacts
Researching each brand before designing so the work matches the brand's tone and the real reasons customers buy
Iterating on creative based on performance, customer questions, and competitor benchmarks
Following brand guidelines and license restrictions (some licenses prohibit AI-generated visuals)
Requirements:
Several years of hands-on Amazon image and A+ design with a portfolio you can show
Experience with premium or design-forward products, not just feature callout infographics
Competence with AI image and video tools combined with clear judgment about where they fall short
Familiarity with Amazon image and video technical requirements
ClickUp for tasks and time tracking (we will train you)
Consistent daily hours with some overlap with US Eastern Time
How to apply (applications that skip these steps are not reviewed):
Start your subject line with the word MONTAUK.
Include a portfolio link. Point specifically to one Amazon listing or image set you designed for a premium or higher-priced product and tell me in two or three sentences what you were trying to achieve with it.
Answer these three questions in your own words. Generic or AI-written answers are easy to identify and will not be considered.
a. We sell a $90 hand-finished ceramic serving bowl from a heritage brand. In a flat photo it looks like any other bowl. How do you design the image set so a shopper understands why it is worth far more than a $15 version?
b. How do you use AI image and video tools in your work, and where do they fall short for premium products? Give one specific thing you would not trust AI to handle.
c. You are assigned a brand you have never designed for. What do you do between getting the assignment and starting your first image concepts?
