The Role
This is a position perfect for a top-tier Senior Accountant looking to step up.
Duties will primarily comprise the preparation and review of financial accounts and income tax returns, as well as managing broader compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Compliance: Prepare and review Financial Accounts, Tax Returns, and Activity Statements (BAS/IAS) for all entity types (Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Individuals).
SMSF Management: Utilise specialist-level expertise for the comprehensive management and compliance of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs). (*** we would prefer candidate has SMSF tax experiences***)
Advanced Tax & Advisory: Deal confidently with complex tax issues including CGT, FBT, PSI, and Division 7A, as well as applying Small Business CGT Concessions.
Workflow Management: Demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to manage your own work autonomously to meet deadlines.
About You
You are a technically sharp public practice professional who loves solving client problems but is over the city commute and rigid corporate structures.
Experience: 5+ years of experience within an Australian public practice environment is preferred.
Software Savvy: Strong hands-on experience with Xero (& Xero Tax), BGL 360, and other accounting software (MYOB, QuickBooks etc).
Client Focus: Excellent customer service skills with the confidence to look past the numbers and build real relationships with business owners.
Leadership Traits: A natural ability or strong desire to mentor junior staff and review files with high attention to detail. You would like to grow into a manager position in the future, to help us to manage offshore staff in the future.
