JOB OVERVIEW

Work from home now, or from IT Park, Cebu when our office opens there.

We are a plaintiff-side personal injury law firm based beside Seattle, Washington, USA - in the heart of the Pacific Northwest tech corridor near Microsoft, Amazon, and Boeing. Our practice focuses on traumatic brain injury, some of the most intellectually demanding and high-stakes litigation in US civil law. We are searching for a brilliant new or recent law graduate who genuinely loves legal research and writing and wants to build a career doing it at the highest level.

This is NOT a typical VA or paralegal role. You will not be practicing US or Washington law, and you are not expected to know any of it yet. You will be our litigation research-and-writing engine. Your work product - motions, briefs, discovery responses - is reviewed and signed by our Washington attorneys.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Draft and respond to motions, supported by rigorous legal research.
• Assist with discovery: answering interrogatories and requests for production, and crafting precise objections.
• Produce well-organized, persuasive, court-ready legal writing under attorney supervision.
• Grow into a deep working knowledge of US and Washington law and civil procedure.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Salary of USD $1,800 to $2,500 per month, based on credentials and experience.
• A clear annual raise structure tied to performance.
• 13th month pay, as guaranteed under Philippine law.
• HMO / health insurance coverage.
• Paid leave (vacation and sick leave).
• Full access to the same premier legal research databases that US attorneys use.
• We supply you with all needed hardware, software, subscriptions, and legal research databases. You supply a fast and reliable internet connection.
• Hands-on mentorship and training in US and Washington law - we will teach you everything.
• A genuine long-term career path with increasing responsibility.
• The option to work remotely or from a professional office in IT Park, Cebu once that space opens.

HOW YOU WILL BE EMPLOYED (IMPORTANT)

You will be formally employed through a licensed Employer of Record (EOR) in the Philippines. This means you are a properly employed worker - not an unprotected freelancer. The EOR handles all payroll, government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), 13th month pay, and statutory benefits in full compliance with Philippine labor law. You get the stability and legal protections of formal employment while working for a US firm.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A new or relatively recent law graduate. Top of your class, law journal, moot court, or bar honors strongly preferred.
• Someone who LOVES legal research and writing - this is the core of the job, every single day.
• Exceptional written English and analytical reasoning, on par with a US law-review graduate.
• Intellectual curiosity, precision, and the drive to produce work that needs no corrections.
• No prior knowledge of US or Washington law required. Just the talent and the hunger to learn it fast.

WHY THIS ROLE IS SPECIAL

You will work on brain injury cases where excellent research and writing genuinely change lives. We hold a high bar: our goal is for your work to be so strong it can be filed in Washington courts exactly as written, signed by the attorney whose name goes on the pleading. If you take pride in being the sharpest writer in the room, you will fit right in.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Your resume.
2. Your law school class rank or honors (and bar status, if applicable).
3. A short writing sample - a brief, memo, or essay you are proud of.
4. A few sentences telling us why legal research and writing is the work you want to do.

Applications without a writing sample will not be considered. We read every thoughtful application carefully.
