Role Overview
The Drafting Officer (Survey) is responsible for providing survey drafting, survey processing, and digital production support to TA Project Services Pty Ltd.
The role focuses on survey drafting and technical support activities, including drawing preparation, CAD amendments, drafting updates, production drafting, survey data preparation, and pre-calculation support under the direction of Australian-based technical personnel.
The position is intended to support the development of TA Project Services' offshore technical services capability and provides a structured pathway into broader drafting, civil design support, GIS, and digital delivery functions as business requirements evolve.
The role contributes to efficient project delivery through the preparation of accurate, high-quality drafting outputs while supporting established drafting standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
The role supports TA Project Services' mission by delivering reliable, accurate, and efficient technical services while demonstrating the company's core values of efficiency, integrity, open communication, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Collaborators: Drafting & Digital Delivery Coordinator, Survey Team, Civil Engineering Team, Town Planning Team
Key Responsibilities
• Consistently act in accordance with TA Project Services’ core values. Demonstrate these values through decision-making, stakeholder engagement, teamwork, and the delivery of all work outcomes
Survey Drafting Support
• Prepare survey drafting deliverables under the direction of Australian-based personnel.
• Complete CAD amendments and drawing updates as instructed.
• Assist with preparation of plans, figures, maps, and survey-related documentation.
• Support production drafting activities for land development, planning, and infrastructure projects.
• Maintain drafting accuracy and consistency across project deliverables.
• Assist with conversion of field data into drafting outputs where required.
• Assist technical personnel with routine drafting and survey processing tasks.
• Support efficient preparation of plans and documentation through completion of pre-production activities.
Survey Processing and Pre-Calculation Support
• Assist with survey pre-calculation activities using established procedures and templates.
• Prepare supporting calculations, schedules, and project information for review by Australian-based technical personnel.
• Compile and organise survey data for drafting and project delivery purposes.
• Assist with processing field information and preparing data for drafting workflows.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency in all calculations and supporting project information.
• Escalate technical queries and anomalies for review where required.
• Support preparation of survey deliverables by completing routine technical processing tasks.
• Assist with document preparation and project data management activities.
Production Drafting
• Assist with drafting workloads across multiple projects.
• Prepare revisions and updates to existing drawings.
• Complete drafting tasks within agreed timeframes and quality requirements.
• Maintain organised project files and documentation.
• Support efficient delivery of project outputs.
• Ensure drafting outputs align with project instructions and established standards.
Quality Assurance and Standards Compliance
• Follow established drafting procedures, templates, and standards.
• Apply quality control checks before submitting completed work.
• Assist in maintaining consistency across drafting deliverables.
• Participate in drafting reviews and feedback processes.
• Implement improvements identified through QA/QC activities.
• Support the ongoing development of drafting libraries and templates.
Communication and Coordination
• Maintain regular communication with Australian-based tea ---------- mbers.
• Provide updates regarding task progress and workload status.
• Seek clarification where project requirements are unclear.
• Participate in tea ---------- etings and training activities as required.
• Participate in regular mentoring and capability development sessions with the Drafting & Digital Delivery Coordinator.
• Contribute to a collaborative and professional working environment.
Learning and Capability Development
• Develop knowledge of Australian surveying, planning, and infrastructure drafting requirements.
• Participate in training and capability development activities.
• Build competency in drafting software, standards, and digital delivery systems.
• Develop an understanding of survey calculations and technical workflows.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the drafting function.
• Develop capability for future involvement in civil drafting, GIS, and digital delivery activities.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
• Qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Geodetic Engineering, Spatial Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar drafting software.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Reliable internet connection and suitable remote working environment.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Desirable
• Professional Surveyor, Geodetic Engineer, or Surveying graduate qualification.
• Experience supporting cadastral, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or land development projects.
• Experience with survey calculations and survey data processing.
• Experience with Civil 3D, GIS platforms, or spatial data systems.
• Experience working with Australian, New Zealand, or international surveying firms.
• Experience working within remote or distributed delivery teams.
