About Us

We are a small team of three and are looking for an Accounting Assistant who will work closely with the owner on a daily basis.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with a strong accounting background and QuickBooks Online Certification. This is not a typical bookkeeping position. The ideal candidate must be comfortable following instructions, attending meetings, managing multiple assignments, and completing work accurately and efficiently.

This role requires someone who is dependable, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The Accounting Assistant will support the owner with bookkeeping projects, financial reviews, account reconciliations, bookkeeping cleanups, administrative tasks, and other assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

* Review bookkeeping work completed by other bookkeepers for accuracy and completeness
* Verify that account balances and financial records agree to supporting statements and documentation
* Perform bookkeeping data entry in QuickBooks Online
* Complete bank, credit card, loan, and other balance sheet reconciliations
* Review financial statements for accuracy and identify discrepancies
* Assist with bookkeeping cleanup projects
* Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as needed
* Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
* Assist with month-end bookkeeping and accounting projects
* Attend meetings and communicate regularly regarding assigned tasks
* Follow instructions and complete assignments within established deadlines
* Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed
* Support special projects and other responsibilities assigned by the owner

Qualifications

Required

* QuickBooks Online Certification
* Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, debits and credits, and financial statements
* Experience working in QuickBooks Online
* Strong reconciliation skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Professional written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments

Preferred

* Experience working with accounting firms, CPA firms, or multiple clients
* Experience reviewing bookkeeping work for accuracy
* Experience with bookkeeping cleanup projects
* Experience preparing adjusting journal entries
