JOB OVERVIEW

Gomez Haulers (GH Logistics Affiliate) is a growing asset-based trucking operation and owner-operator program focused on keeping freight moving safely, efficiently, and profitably. We support independent owner-operators running under the Gomez Haulers MC through dedicated contract freight, strategic dispatching, compliance oversight, and operational support.

This is not a call center position. This is a real trucking operations role where you will work directly with drivers, dispatchers, and operations leadership to ensure loads move successfully from assignment to delivery while maintaining compliance, documentation accuracy, and strong driver support.

Role Overview
You will serve as the primary operational point of contact for a group of owner-operators operating under the Gomez Haulers network. You will manage freight planning, dispatch operations, driver communication, compliance oversight, documentation, settlements, and operational support while ensuring every driver has the tools and guidance needed to operate successfully.

This role requires someone who thrives in fast-paced transportation environments, communicates effectively with drivers and brokers, stays organized under pressure, and takes ownership of problems before they become operational disruptions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Load Booking
• Book profitable freight and negotiate rates with brokers to maximize revenue and build long-term partnerships.
• Strategically plan and dispatch loads to maximize loaded miles, reduce deadhead, and improve fleet utilization.
• Source freight through load boards and dispatch platforms while identifying opportunities for dedicated lanes and consistent freight.

Dispatch & Load Management
• Assign dedicated routes and scheduled loads based on driver availability, location, and equipment.
• Manage daily route boards and confirm driver assignments, departure times, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate return loads, backhauls, and spot market opportunities when applicable.
• Monitor active loads in real time through tracking platforms and GPS visibility tools.
• Communicate route changes, delays, weather impacts, and operational updates to drivers promptly.
• Ensure all assigned loads have confirmed driver, trailer, and departure information before dispatch.

Driver Communication & Support
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owner-operators throughout their workday.
• Maintain consistent communication through phone, messaging platforms, and operational systems.
• Conduct daily check-ins with active drivers to confirm schedules, progress, and operational concerns.
• Coordinate with facilities, customers, and internal departments to resolve issues impacting deliveries.
• Escalate a ---------- , breakdowns, service failures, delays, and compliance concerns immediately.

Documentation & Administrative Oversight
• Review and process Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proofs of Delivery (PODs), rate confirmations, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure delivery documents are uploaded accurately and within required deadlines.
• Maintain driver qualification records, insurance documentation, and compliance files.
• Track fuel receipts, toll records, scale tickets, and other required operational paperwork.
• Prepare and submit weekly settlement and operational reports.

Compliance & Safety Monitoring
• Monitor driver Hours of Service (HOS) and ELD activity.
• Identify and address potential compliance violations before they occur.
• Track expiration dates for medical cards, licenses, inspections, drug testing requirements, and qualification files.
• Coordinate annual inspections and required compliance documentation.
• Report safety i ---------- and compliance concerns to leadership immediately.

Billing & Settlement Support
• Coordinate with billing teams to ensure completed loads are invoiced accurately and on time.
• Verify settlement deductions, advances, fuel charges, and related driver expenses.
• Reconcile completed loads against settlement records and identify discrepancies.
• Assist drivers with settlement questions and escalate complex issues when necessary.

Operational Excellence
• Maintain accurate information across company systems and operational platforms.
• Identify recurring operational issues and recommend process improvements.
• Provide daily and weekly operational updates to management.
• Take ownership of assigned drivers and loads from dispatch through completion.

Who We’re Looking For
• 1+ year of experience in booking loads, trucking dispatch, freight brokerage, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
• Strong understanding of trucking terminology including BOLs, PODs, ELDs, HOS, DOT, MC numbers, and rate confirmations.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple drivers, loads, and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment where delays, breakdowns, and operational changes occur daily.
• Self-directed, accountable, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
• Reliable home office setup with stable internet and backup solutions.
• Ability to work U.S. Central Time business hours consistently.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Samsara, DAT, Truckstop, MONARC, LoadStop, McLeod, Aljex, Turvo, or similar transportation platforms.
• Experience supporting owner-operators or independent contractors.
• Knowledge of dedicated contract freight operations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Schedule & Work Setup
• Full time permanent remote role
• Direct Hire with a US-Based Transportation Company (not agency or BPO)
• Current needed shifts: Mon - Fri 8 AM - 5 PM with flexibility for weekend coverage CDT (San Antonio time)
• Reliable home office setup and back up internet and power stations
• Camera-on Zoom environment during shifts
• Hubstaff time tracking may be required
