Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Part-Time Marketing Specialist with hands-on experience in SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — specifically within a law firm setting. You will play a key role in growing Bay Legal's organic search presence, improving existing content performance, publishing new blog content, and ensuring our website is technically optimized and properly indexed across both traditional and AI-driven search engines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute SEO strategies to increase organic traffic to
- Optimize content for AEO and GEO, including featured snippets, AI Overviews, and visibility in AI-driven search tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity
- Research, write, and publish blog posts targeting high-value legal keywords across our practice areas
- Audit and update existing blog content to improve rankings and relevance
- Monitor and manage indexing, crawl issues, and performance data through Google Search Console
- Address and improve Core Web Vitals scores (LCP, INP, CLS) in coordination with the web team
- Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and content gap identification
- Track and report on organic traffic, keyword rankings, and content performance metrics
- Assist with local SEO efforts, including Google Business Profile optimization

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of SEO and content marketing experience working with or within a law firm — required
- Proven track record of improving organic rankings and driving measurable traffic growth
- Hands-on experience with Google Search Console and Core Web Vitals optimization
- Strong understanding of AEO, GEO, and how AI-driven search results impact legal content strategy
- Experience optimizing content for Google AI Overviews and AI tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity
- Experience publishing and updating content within a CMS (WordPress or similar)
- Ability to research legal topics accurately and write in a clear, professional tone
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar platforms
- Self-directed and able to manage tasks and deadlines independently in a remote setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with local SEO for multi-practice California law firms
- Familiarity with schema markup and structured data for legal content
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for on-page SEO adjustments
