JOB OVERVIEW

URGENT: Xero Cleanup - Prepare File for BAS & Tax Return (1-Day Gig, Start Immediately)
Type: One-day fixed-scope project
Start: Immediately - you must be available within 24 hours and complete the work in one working day
About us
We're a Sydney-based AI and data company preparing for an investment round. Our Xero file is mostly cleaned up - we need an experienced bookkeeper to finish the job and get it ready for our Australian accountant to prepare BAS and tax returns.
The project
The end deliverable: a clean, reconciled Xero file plus a handover summary that our Australian registered tax agent can pick up and run with - no rework, no back-and-forth.

Recode ~1,200 remaining transactions - entered via cash coding, need correct categorisation consistent with the coding already applied to the rest of the file
GST coding accuracy - every transaction coded correctly for GST (GST on expenses, GST-free, BAS excluded etc.) so BAS figures are reliable
Reconcile invoices - mark off paid sales invoices against payments received, confirm outstanding receivables are accurate
BAS & tax-ready handover - end-of-day summary for our accountant: confirmation accounts are reconciled to date, GST report run and sense-checked, plus a list of any items you couldn't confidently code or that need the accountant's judgement (with transaction references)

You are NOT lodging anything - BAS and tax returns will be prepared and lodged by our Australian registered tax agent. Your job is to make their job easy.
Requirements

Available NOW - free for a full working day within the next 24 hours
3+ years Xero experience with Australian clients - GST/BAS coding experience is essential and non-negotiable
Has prepared files for handover to Australian accountants/tax agents before
Strong written English - all communication in writing
Fast AND accurate - this file is going to our accountant and then in front of investors

Payment
Fixed price for the day - quote in your application. Paid promptly on completion.
How to apply
Start your application with "SPRINT" and your earliest start time (with timezone). Then: (1) your fixed price for ~1,200 transactions plus invoice reconciliation and handover summary, (2) describe your experience preparing Australian client files for BAS/tax - name the GST tax rates you'd typically use in Xero (this is a screening question).
Applications without a start time will be ignored.
