JOB OVERVIEW

My name is Niko, and we are scaling a network of high-growth YouTube automation channels focused on historical, cultural, food, and educational storytelling.

Example style reference, not our channel:

- youtu.be/6jZ7ib2Edes?si=acf8y118MfbnDNNE

We are looking for a strong YouTube automation editor who understands storytelling, retention, visual pacing, and how to use AI tools like HeyGen to create a more polished viewing experience.

This is not a basic faceless-channel role where you simply place random stock footage over a voiceover. We need someone who can take a long-form script and turn it into a clean, engaging, documentary-style YouTube video that feels intentional, not rushed or generic.

The editing style may look simple on the surface, but the taste required is high. You should know how to use archival photos, cinematic b-roll, subtle motion, sound design, and AI host/avatar ---------- nts to keep viewers engaged for 30–40 minutes.

What You’ll Do:
• Edit long-form YouTube automation videos using voiceover, visuals, music, sound effects, subtitles, b-roll, and pacing designed for retention.
• Use HeyGen or similar AI avatar tools to create host segments, CTAs, intros, transitions, or other human-feeling ---------- nts.
• Source strong historical images, clips, and b-roll that match the script, time period, culture, and story.
• Improve slower sections with better visuals, pacing, sound design, or avatar/host ---------- nts.
• Create high-quality clickable thumbnails using ChatGPT and other AI/design tools.

Position Details:
• Schedule: Monday to Saturday, flexible hours.
• Output: 1 high-quality video every 2 days.
• Video length: Usually 30 minutes.
• Salary: $400 USD per month, paid bi-weekly, plus cash bonuses for videos that reach 100k+ views.
• Long-term role with potential for increased pay as the channel network grows.

Requirements:
• Experience editing traditional YouTube automation videos.
• Experience using HeyGen or similar AI avatar tools.
• Understanding of long-form retention for 20+ minute videos.
• Strong visual taste and ability to avoid cheap/generic stock footage.
• Ability to edit for a mature, curious audience rather than using loud, childish editing.
• Reliable, communicative, and able to work independently.

Ideal Candidate:
• You have edited documentary-style, history, food, culture, video essay, or educational YouTube content before.
• You understand YouTube automation workflows and can work efficiently.
• You are comfortable using AI tools in the production process.
• You have a good eye for historical accuracy, visual consistency, and emotional tone.
• You know how to use Ken Burns movement, film grain overlays, clean typography, b-roll, archival images, and subtle transitions tastefully.

How to Apply:

1. Start your application with your favorite animal.

2. Send 2–3 examples of previous work that show storytelling ability. We prefer documentary, video essay, educational, history, food, or cultural content. YouTube links are preferred.

3. Briefly explain your experience with HeyGen or similar AI avatar tools.

4. Briefly explain your experience editing long-form videos of 20+ minutes.

5. Confirm that you are available for a 6-day-a-week workflow and can deliver one video every 2 days.
