JOB OVERVIEW

We're hiring on behalf of a US-based jewelry wholesaler looking for a detail-oriented Jewelry CAD Designer to join their team on a contract basis. You'll be responsible for turning design concepts, sketches, and client briefs into clean, production-ready 2D designs and artwork, working closely with the production and sales teams to deliver accurate, manufacturable pieces on tight timelines.

What you'll do:
– Use AI tools to generate and explore design concepts, then develop the strongest ideas into finished pieces
– Create detailed 2D jewelry designs and technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator from sketches, reference images, or written briefs
– Produce technical line drawings, layout sheets, and catalog-ready artwork
– Develop color renderings and illustrations of pieces for client approval and marketing use
– Prepare clean, accurate design files and specs for the production team
– Account for manufacturing considerations such as proportions, stone sizes, settings, and standard ring sizing
– Maintain consistency across design sets and product lines
– Revise designs quickly based on client and production feedback
– Coordinate with internal sales reps and the production team to resolve design, sizing, and feasibility questions
What we're looking for:
– Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for 2D jewelry design and technical drawing
– Hands-on jewelry design experience across rings, pendants, earrings, and bracelets
– Solid understanding of jewelry manufacturing, including stone setting and assembly, and how it informs accurate design
– Working knowledge of gemstone shapes and sizes, metal properties, and standard ring sizing
– A portfolio of jewelry design work is required
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Advanced English writing and speaking skills
– Available to work full overlap with US Eastern Time
– Willingness to use Timeproof for time tracking
– Comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
– Experience using AI tools for concept generation and ideation is a strong plus. The client is keen to build AI into their design process and would welcome someone who can introduce new tools, ideas, and ways of working to the team
