ABOUT US
Cedar Mill Firearms Family is a US-based e-commerce brand selling firearm storage and EDC accessories on Amazon, BigCommerce, and Shopify. We sell trigger locks, gun socks, dehumidifiers, cleaning kits, range bags, and safes. We do NOT source firearms, federal law prohibits Amazon firearm sales and we do not import them.
We need an Amazon Catalog Specialist with deep flat-file and keyword-research skills. This seat focuses on the structured-data backbone of the catalog: variation families, parent-child hierarchies, browse nodes, search terms, and category-specific flat-file uploads. Distinct from the broader Operations or Listing Copywriter roles.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
You will own the structured-data side of Amazon. Build and maintain variation families (parent-child) without breaking parent indexing. Upload category-specific flat files for new SKUs (Sporting Goods, Tools, Home and Kitchen as relevant). Resolve listing-data errors and suppressed listings via flat-file replacement. Run keyword research using Helium 10 Cerebro, Magnet, Black Box, and Keyword Tracker. Maintain backend search-term fields below the 250-byte cap. Coordinate with the Listing Copywriter on front-end title and bullet keyword integration.
WHAT YOU MUST ALREADY KNOW
REQUIRED, 3+ years Amazon catalog operations including flat-file uploads in at least 2 categories.
REQUIRED, Helium 10 deep fluency: Cerebro, Magnet, Black Box, Keyword Tracker.
REQUIRED, Parent-child variation hierarchy experience (you have built and fixed 100+).
REQUIRED, Browse-node and category classification expertise (you know when to escalate to Amazon for re-categorization).
REQUIRED, Self-directed. You catch a stuck flat-file error before it becomes a 2-week ticket.
PREFERRED, Brand Registry tools (Brand Analytics, Brand Story, A Plus Premium).
PREFERRED, Amazon Image guidelines depth for category-specific compliance.
PREFERRED, Prior recovery experience on suppressed listings or false-IP-complaint takedowns.
BONUS, AI tool fluency (ChatGPT, Claude) for bulk flat-file diff generation and keyword expansion.
KPI TARGETS
Listing health greater than or equal to 98 percent (zero suppressed except by design).
Flat-file upload success rate greater than or equal to 95 percent on first attempt.
Keyword research deliverable: at least 1 fresh per-SKU keyword report per week on active products.
Backend search-term byte usage greater than or equal to 95 percent across active SKUs.
