MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA VIRTUAL
ASSISTANT
Starting Part-Time (20 hrs/week) | Strong Path to Full-Time+ | Long-Term | Remote
California Pools Philadelphia | Countywide Landscape | Countywide Fert & Pest | CW Mulch
Who We Are
We are a family of four home services and outdoor living companies based in the Philadelphia
area, all owned and operated by the same team. Our brands cover the full outdoor living
experience:
• California Pools Philadelphia -- pool construction and renovation
• Countywide Landscape -- outdoor living design and landscaping
• Countywide Fert & Pest -- lawn fertilization and pest control
• CW Mulch -- retail yard supplies and bulk delivery
We are a hands-on, growth-oriented team building out our digital marketing presence across all
four brands. We need a sharp, motivated VA who can help us look great online, grow our
audience, and generate real leads.
The Opportunity
This role starts part-time at approximately 20 hours per week, but we want to be upfront: we see
this growing into a full-time position -- and potentially beyond that -- as our brands expand and
you prove yourself. We are not looking for a temp. We are looking for someone to build with.
We will start by giving you our scripts, tone guides, and brand direction -- but our goal is to
eventually step back and have you running the content calendar on autopilot, bringing ideas to
us rather than waiting for us to assign every task.
If you are the kind of person who sees a competitor ad and immediately thinks 'we could do that
better,' or notices a slow season coming and proactively drafts a campaign -- this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Social Media Management
• Create, schedule, and post content across
Profile for all four brands
• Write captions that match each brand's voice and speak directly to homeowners in the
Philadelphia/tri-state area
• Build and maintain a monthly content calendar
• Engage with comments and messages in a timely, professional manner
• Source or create graphics using Canva or similar tools
Facebook
• Set up and manage paid ad campaigns (lead gen, awareness, retargeting)
• Write compelling ad copy and test variations (A/B testing)
• Monitor ad performance, adjust targeting and budgets, and report results weekly
• Build and maintain custom audiences and lookalike audiences
SEO & Google Maps Optimization
• Optimize and maintain Google Business Profiles for all four companies
• Ensure NAP consistency (name, address, phone) across all directories
• Monitor and respond to Google reviews; develop a review-generation strategy
• Perform basic on-page SEO updates: meta titles, descriptions, image alt text
• Track rankings and organic traffic using Google Search Console and/or SEMrush/Ahrefs
• Identify local keyword opportunities and seasonal content topics
Content & Campaign Ideas
• Proactively bring content ideas, trending formats, and seasonal campaign concepts
• Draft
• Stay current on what competitors and adjacent industries are doing online
Big Bonus: AI & Automation
We actively use Claude (Anthropic's AI) internally, and if you have experience building simple
automations or workflows using AI tools -- especially Claude -- that is a major plus. Examples
include:
• Automating repetitive reporting or social scheduling tasks
• Building prompt workflows for content drafting or review responses
• Connecting tools via Zapier, Make, or similar platforms
You do not need to be a developer. If you are someone who loves finding smarter ways to get
things done with AI, we want to hear about it.
