JOB OVERVIEW

Mudan Design is a luxury residential interior design firm serving Maryland and the Washington DC area. We are seeking an experienced SEO professional to help improve our organic visibility, strengthen our local search presence, and generate qualified design consultation inquiries.

This is a strategic and technical SEO role. We are not looking for someone who simply builds backlinks or publishes generic content. We are seeking a proactive SEO professional who can analyze opportunities, identify technical issues, optimize local search performance, implement schema and technical SEO improvements, and help develop a long-term growth strategy.

Our website is built on WordPress, and we have internal support for website updates and content implementation. We are looking for someone who can provide expert guidance, perform technical SEO work, and help prioritize the highest-impact opportunities.

Finalists may be invited to complete a paid website review as part of the interview process.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a 12-month SEO growth roadmap
- Conduct technical SEO audits
- Review Google Search Console
- Identify and resolve indexing issues
- Implement schema markup
- Optimize Google Business Profile
- Improve local SEO visibility
- Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis
- Identify service page, location page, blog, and portfolio SEO opportunities
- Recommend internal linking improvements
- Review page speed and Core Web Vitals opportunities
- Identify high-quality backlink, directory, and digital PR opportunities
- Provide monthly reporting with clear action items

IDEAL CANDIDATE
- 3+ years of SEO experience preferred
- Strong experience with local SEO
- Strong technical SEO knowledge
- Experience implementing schema markup
- Experience optimizing Google Business Profile
- Experience with Google Search Console
- Familiarity with WordPress SEO
- Experience with Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Moz, or similar tools
- Able to explain SEO recommendations clearly
- Able to work independently and proactively
- Experience with luxury services, interior design, architecture, remodeling, or home services is a plus
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity is a plus

SUCCESS METRICS
We are not focused on vanity traffic. Success will be measured by:
- Growth in qualified organic leads
- Improved local search visibility
- Better Google Business Profile performance
- Improved rankings for high-intent service keywords
- Increased visibility for portfolio and project pages
- Clear monthly progress and prioritized recommendations

HOURS - Initial Audit & Strategy Phase: 20–30 total hours during the first 30–45 days
