About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PrePress & Customer Service Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical prepress expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and preparing customer artwork for production, ensuring files meet print specifications, and identifying potential issues before they impact manufacturing. In addition, this role will provide backup support to the Customer Service team when required, including order processing and customer communication.

We are looking for a quick learner who can develop a strong understanding of our pricing structures, print parameters, products, and business processes while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

PrePress & Artwork Management

Review customer-supplied artwork and files for print readiness.
Prepare artwork files according to company and production specifications.
Ensure compliance with print requirements including bleed, trapping, overprinting, die lines, imposition, and colour profiles.
Identify and resolve artwork issues prior to production.
Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with customer requirements.
Maintain accurate version control and file management systems.
Liaise with Sales, Customer Service, and Production teams regarding artwork and print specifications.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to internal teams and customers when required.
Production Support

Assist in managing workflow priorities to meet production deadlines.
Ensure artwork and job files are prepared accurately and efficiently.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the prepress process.
Monitor jobs for potential production risks and proactively recommend solutions.
Customer Service Support

Provide backup support to the Customer Service team as required.
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Respond to customer enquiries via email and other communication channels.
Assist customers with artwork-related questions and print specifications.
Maintain professional and timely communication with clients.
Technical Skills & ExperienceEssential

Strong understanding of print production processes, preferably within digital and flexographic printing environments.
Advanced knowledge of artwork setup, file preparation, and print specifications.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and related prepress software.
Strong understanding of colour management, including:
CMYK
Spot colours
Pantone matching
Colour profiling
Knowledge of:
Trapping
Bleed
Overprinting
Die lines
Imposition
Understanding of various substrates, inks, coatings, and print finishes.
Ability to identify artwork errors, inconsistencies, and potential production issues before printing.
Experience working within a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred

Experience in label printing, packaging, or commercial print production.
Exposure to digital and flexographic printing technologies.
Previous experience supporting customer service or order processing functions.
