I am looking for a skilled Graphic Designer / Virtual Assistant to help with artwork preparation for a custom printing and apparel business.
We work with DTF transfers, t-shirts, apparel graphics, logos, client artwork, mockups, and print-ready files. Many clients send low-quality images, screenshots, blurry logos, or raster files, so I need someone who can clean up artwork, redraw designs, and prepare professional files that are actually ready for printing.
This role is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, strong in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and understands how to prepare artwork for apparel printing.
Main Responsibilities
You will help with tasks such as:
Redrawing low-quality logos into clean vector files
Manually tracing artwork in Adobe Illustrator
Converting raster images into vector files when possible
Cleaning up blurry, pixelated, or low-resolution artwork
Removing backgrounds and preparing transparent PNG files
Preparing print-ready files for DTF transfers and apparel printing
Creating t-shirt designs from ideas, references, or client concepts
Creating simple logo concepts and brand graphics
Sizing artwork correctly for shirts, hoodies, bags, and other products
Creating mockups to show clients how designs may look on apparel
Organizing design files clearly in Google Drive or another file system
Making revisions based on feedback
Required Skills
Please apply only if you are comfortable with:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Manual vector tracing
Logo redraws
Raster image cleanup
Transparent PNG files
Print-ready file setup
Typography and layout design
Apparel/t-shirt design
Following instructions carefully
Communicating clearly and asking questions when needed
Important
Please put the word DTF as the very first word at the top of your application so I know you read this section carefully.
Bonus Skills
These are not required, but they are a big plus:
DTF printing experience
Screen printing file preparation
Color separations
Spot colors
Halftones
Pantone color matching
Gang sheet layout
Canva
Figma
Procreate
CorelDRAW
Experience working with print shops, apparel brands, or promotional products
The Type of Designer I’m Looking For
I am not only looking for someone who can make things look nice. I need someone who understands clean artwork and print production.
For example, if a client sends a small blurry logo, I need you to know whether it can be cleaned up, needs to be manually redrawn, or needs to be recreated from scratch.
I am looking for someone who can take a rough idea and turn it into something professional, clean, and usable for printing.
You should be able to understand things like:
“This image is too low-quality, but I can redraw it.”
“This file is okay for a mockup, but not good enough for printing.”
“This design needs cleaner edges before we print it.”
“I can make this into a transparent PNG and vector file.”
“This logo has too many colors for screen print unless we simplify it.”
“This design may need halftones, spot colors, or separations depending on the print method.”
Examples of Work You May Be Given
A client sends a screenshot of a logo and wants it on a shirt
A business has a rough logo idea and needs a clean version
A customer sends a photo and wants text added around it
A design needs to be cleaned up for DTF printing
A t-shirt idea needs to be created from a description
A low-resolution PNG needs to be rebuilt as a vector file
A design needs to be mocked up on a shirt
A file needs to be prepared at the correct size with a transparent background
A design may need simplified colors for screen printing
Application Requirements
When applying, please include:
Your experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Examples of logo redraws or vector tracing work
Examples of t-shirt or apparel designs you have made
Before-and-after examples if you have them
Any experience you have with DTF, screen printing, or print shops
Any experience with halftones, spot colors, or color separations
What file formats you can provide, such as AI, SVG, EPS, PDF, PNG, PSD, etc.
Your expected hourly rate or monthly rate
Your availability and preferred work schedule
A short explanation of how you would handle a blurry low-resolution logo that a client wants printed on a shirt
Please do not only send Canva designs. Canva is okay as an extra tool, but this position requires Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
At the very bottom of your application, please write SCREEN PRINT as the last line.
