Remote Systems Administrator (Philippines-Based)
Compensation: Competitive (commensurate with experience) Job Type: Full-time, Remote (Philippines) Work Hours: Must align with U.S. business hours

Overview

We are a growing Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) seeking a highly capable Remote Systems Administrator to support our U.S.-based helpdesk. This role is designed to meet U.S. standards for a mid-level Systems Administrator, combining strong technical expertise with excellent communication and ownership.

You will serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 technicians, handle complex infrastructure issues, and manage core systems across Microsoft AD/Entra and networking environments. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while delivering high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation for internal help desk (Tier 1) staff
• Support VOIP systems (including troubleshooting call quality and configuration issues, out of box setup, etc.)
• Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019 and newer)
• Manage and maintain Active Directory (users, groups, GPOs, OU structure)
• Configure and manage Microsoft Intune and Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Design, deploy, and maintain Group Policy (GPO) configurations
• Support Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
• Manage virtualization environments (Microsoft Hyper-V)
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across systems, applications, and infrastructure
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components (routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security
• Implement system updates, patches, and upgrades
• Assist with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and testing
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation
• Participate in onboarding/offboarding workflows and system provisioning
• Ensure all systems follow security best practices and compliance standards

Required Qualifications
• 4–6+ years of experience in IT support and/or systems administration
• Strong experience with Windows Server 2019 (or newer)
• Hands-on experience with:
o Active Directory (administration, GPO creation, troubleshooting)
o Microsoft Intune (device management, policies, compliance)
o Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD user/device identity management)
• Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V or similar virtualization platforms
• Solid knowledge of networking:
o Routing and switching fundamentals
o VLAN configuration and segmentation
o VPN setup and troubleshooting
o Firewall concepts
• VOIP experience (3CX or similar platforms preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, network, and cloud environments
• Experience working in an MSP environment (strongly preferred)
• Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities independently
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Professional English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Comfortable working directly with U.S.-based end users and stakeholders

Work Environment & Technical Requirements
• Stable, high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps recommended, low latency)
• Backup internet option highly preferred
• Quiet, professional home office environment
• High-quality noise-canceling headset required for phone and VoIP communication
• Reliable power setup (UPS recommended)

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with PSA/RMM tools (Autotask, N-central, etc.)
• Experience with SonicWall or similar firewall platforms
• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell)
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Exposure to compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.)
