JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT US

We're a US direct-to-consumer health supplement brand, scaling fast. We sell to a skeptical, older American audience — people 55 to 75 who have a drawer full of supplements that promised everything and delivered nothing. Winning their trust is hard. That's the job.

We run aggressive direct-response creative on Meta: video ads, UGC scripts, native advertorials, static ads.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO

Research our buyer until you know them better than they know themselves — their exact language, their fears, what almost stopped them from buying
Study competitor ads in the Meta Ad Library and work out WHY the winners win. Not what they say — why it works.
Propose which angles and ads we build next, with the reasoning and the data behind it
Write the scripts: video briefs, UGC, native advertorials (800–1500 words), static concepts
Read performance data and tell me what it means
Flag when we need a landing page or an email angle — and propose the structure

You are the thinking mind of the creative. You propose the play. You don't wait to be told the play.

REQUIREMENTS — all of these, not most of them

Minimum 2 years writing direct-response copy. Not brand copy. Not blog posts. Not social captions. Copy written to sell, where you saw the numbers afterward.
You can write a full long-form advertorial — 1000+ words that hold a reader who didn't intend to read anything. If you've only written short-form, you're not ready for this role.
You understand the metrics. ROAS, CAC, payback period, LTV, MER, hold rate. Not as vocabulary — as things you've used to make a decision.
You can tell a symptom from a story. "I get tired in the afternoon" is a symptom. "I promised my granddaughter I'd be at her birthday, and I made it forty minutes before I went and sat in the car" is a story. If that distinction isn't instantly obvious to you, please don't apply.
You follow instructions precisely. If I ask for five pieces, I get five. If I ask for a scene, I get a scene. This is the single most common reason people don't last here.
Strong written English. Native fluency isn't required. Precision is. If your application has sloppy errors, that's the answer.
You take feedback once. I'll correct something once, clearly. I won't correct it three times.

DO NOT APPLY IF

You need every task explained twice
You use AI to write and hope nobody notices
You go quiet when you're stuck instead of asking
You want to write "nice" content. Our register is aggressive. If your draft feels safe and could belong to any supplement brand, it's wrong.
You're juggling five other clients and this is filler

WHAT YOU GET

$8-10/hour, 4 hours a day to start, Monday to Friday. More hours available as you prove out.
Long-term. We're building a team, not filling a gap.
Real training, real feedback, access to our real performance data
You'll learn direct-response at a level most people never get exposed to

HOW TO APPLY

Read this carefully. Most applicants won't, and that's the first filter.

1. Start your application with the word HYDROGEN in the subject line. No HYDROGEN, no reply.

2. Answer these three questions. Short is fine — thinking matters more than length:

What's the difference between an angle and a benefit? Give me one example of each.
Name one ad — any brand, any product — you think is genuinely well written, and tell me in two or three sentences why it works.
Why do most supplement ads fail with a skeptical 65-year-old buyer?

3. Write me ONE opening scene. Just one. Two or three sentences.

The person: a man, 62, who feels a lot older than he is. He's low on energy by mid-afternoon and has written it off as age.

Do NOT describe his tiredness. Write the ---------- nt it cost him something. A specific person, a specific place, a specific ---------- nt, and something he lost. Do not use the words "tired," "energy," or "exhausted" anywhere.

4. Send one writing sample of long-form direct-response copy you wrote yourself. An advertorial, a sales page, a VSL script. If you don't have one, this role isn't a fit yet.

5. Tell me honestly whether you used AI for any part of this application. We can tell. An honest yes is far better than a no we don't believe. AI-written applications go straight in the bin.

We reply to every application that completes all five steps. We don't reply to the ones that don't.
