Social Media Manager / Booking Agent for Online Music Project

I’m looking for a remote VA to help build and manage an exciting new online Substack-based original music production project. The project is in the early stages so offers great opportunities for additional responsibilities and wage increases for top performance as we grow.

You will collaborate with me to strategize and implement a weekly content calendar of music recording instructional videos, Substack lives, monthly concert livestreams, podcast interviews, and music-related articles and tutorials to drive three main revenue streams:

• Substack paid subscriptions
• Virtual concert gigs at colleges, conferences, festivals, art house theaters and other global venues
• Sponsorships/affiliate advertising from relevant partners

The ideal candidate will be excited about collaborating with me to strategize, coordinate, and leverage my large catalogue of original rock music and virtual multimedia concert-presentations into active marketing funnels supporting these and future revenue streams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Content Calendar Management: Help me strategize, produce, and upload/distribute project assets.
• Re-purposing digital assets across relevant online platforms to drive brand awareness and bring people into my Substack ecosystem.
• Lead Generation for Booking Virtual Gigs: Online research and cold emailing to find and nurture contacts at venues (colleges, conferences, festivals, community theaters, independent art house film centers, etc.) across the world suitable for my unique brand of virtual concert presentations. (I will provide training to teach you what these virtual concerts are, to aid you in your outreach.)
• Lead Generation to book me on podcasts for interviews/performances and find promising Substack creators for potential collaborations and crossposts.
• Research of and outreach to potential partners for sponsorships and affiliate relationships.
• Ongoing strategy sessions: Help me track and assess current business operations and brainstorm modifications to maximize and expand revenue opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with Substack a plus, but if not, an eagerness to dive deep into mastering that platform as that is where the majority of my content will live
• Proficiency with other social media platforms and ability to assess platform viability for re-purposed content and to upload and manage content on those platforms
• Communicative: You’re not afraid to give ideas, voice opinions and feedback, and to ask the right questions when anything is unclear
• Willingness to occasionally be on camera as a vital project collaborator during livestreams and other possible recorded videos is a definite plus
• Reliable internet connection

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAILY:

Each day you will work on one or more of the responsibilities listed above in the service of building my Substack audience, researching and nurturing virtual gig contacts and opportunities, and researching and setting up podcast interviews and collaborations/partnerships.

Most days Monday to Friday we’ll do a check-in over Zoom for roughly 30 - 60 minutes in which you’ll update me on progress and we’ll brainstorm and discuss your tasks for that day. These Zoom sessions will likely be longer in the beginning as I train you on my music, history, story, etc., and shorter down the road as you become more familiar with me and the project and are able to take full initiative.
