Video Editor for Arts & Artisan Podcast (Part-Time / Recurring)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Video Editor to join our team for our visual podcast, About Your Art (AYA). Our podcast focuses on interviewing passionate artisans, makers, and creators, diving deep into their craft and brand development. Because our subject matter is art, our visual style needs to be clean, aesthetically pleasing, and engaging.
This is a part-time, project-based role with the potential to grow into a consistent weekly schedule. You will be responsible for editing full-length video episodes and turning them into highly engaging short-form clips (TikToks, IG Reels, YouTube Shorts).
Responsibilities:
Full-Length Episodes: Clean up raw video podcast footage (audio leveling, smooth cuts between hosts/guests, removing dead air/heavy filler words).
Short-Form Content: Extract 3–5 engaging, high-performing clips from each episode.
Aesthetic & Dynamic Editing: Add clean transitions, text overlays/captions, and relevant b-roll footage or product images of the artist's work.
Audio/Visual Polish: Ensure audio is crisp and well-leveled, and apply basic color correction so the artwork and studio space look vibrant.
Organization: Maintain a clean Google Drive or Dropbox workflow for assets and final exports.
Requirements:
Proficiency in professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve). Experience with CapCut for quick short-form editing is a plus.
An eye for art, design, and modern aesthetics (we do not want chaotic, over-edited "gaming style" captions; we prefer clean, intentional, brand-aligned visual storytelling).
A reliable, high-speed internet connection and a computer capable of processing high-definition video.
Ability to follow a brand style guide (fonts, colors, pacing).
Excellent communication skills and openness to constructive feedback.
Compensation & Hours:
Type: Part-time / Project-based (estimated 10–15 hours per week to start).
Rate: $3-5/hour
Timezone: Flexible/Asynchronous. You can work your own hours as long as deadlines are strictly met.
