Automotive Service Advisor with Parts Estimating Experience for US company

We are a busy independent auto repair shop in Slidell, Louisiana, specializing in gas and diesel light/medium-duty vehicles. We do not do paint or collision work. We are seeking a remote service Advisor/Automotive Repair Order & Parts Estimating Specialist to join our team.

This is not a general virtual assistant position. We need someone with real automotive repair shop estimating experience who understands how to build complete, accurate repair orders inside Tekmetric for advisor review.

We work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST. This position requires someone willing to work our business hours, which will likely be a PHP graveyard shift. During scheduled work hours, you must be exclusively available to our shop.

Prior automotive repair shop estimating experience is required. Diesel and light/medium-duty vehicle experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation will include a smaller base pay plus performance bonus opportunities based on accuracy, efficiency, completed estimates, parts profitability, and reducing missed parts that hurt gross profit.

Duties:
* Build full draft repair orders inside Tekmetric for service advisor review
* Research and add all required parts for recommended repairs
* Review repair procedures using ALLDATA, Identifix, OEM information, MOTOR, and Tekmetric canned jobs
* Identify one-time-use and non-reusable parts such as torque-to-yield bolts, seals, gaskets, clips, hardware, and other required replacement items
* Add commonly missed parts such as O-rings, fluids, filters, clamps, shop supplies, seals, gaskets, and related components
* Research parts using OEC RepairLink, PartsTech, ATD, TireHub, TireCo, and vendor catalogs
* Communicate with vendors by message or phone when needed to get answers quickly
* Ask technicians for clarification when repair recommendations are unclear
* Build complete, profitable, sellable tickets that help advisors present the job confidently
* Check availability, pricing, fitment, part numbers, and delivery options
* Compare OEM, aftermarket, and tire options when appropriate
* Help prevent missed parts, wrong parts, underpriced tickets, and profit leaks
* Document notes clearly inside Tekmetric
* Follow internal estimating procedures and shop standards
* Assist with back-office estimating and parts-related tasks as needed

Experience Required:

* Prior automotive repair shop estimating experience
* Experience building repair orders or estimates for service advisors
* Strong understanding of gas and diesel light/medium-duty vehicles
* Ability to read repair procedures and identify required supporting parts
* Familiarity with fluids, seals, gaskets, hardware, torque-to-yield bolts, and non-reusable components
* Ability to spot parts that are commonly forgotten but required to complete the job correctly
* Experience with Tekmetric preferred
* Experience with OEC RepairLink, PartsTech, ATD, TireHub, TireCo, ALLDATA, Identifix, OEM repair information, and MOTOR preferred
* Strong English reading and writing skills required
* Clear spoken English preferred for vendor calls and team communication
