JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Hiring Manager to build and manage our tutoring team across multiple family-based locations and remote positions.
You will be responsible for:
• Recruiting qualified math tutors who fit with family learning environments
• Screening candidates for teaching ability and family compatibility
• Building lasting tutor-family matches that drive measurable student success
• Managing hiring across MathWorldWide and expanding our team
This role requires someone with a proven track record of successful hiring, team building, and working with education/tutoring professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
RECRUITMENT & CANDIDATE SOURCING
Post and manage job listings on job boards
Source qualified math tutors through multiple channels
Screen resumes and applications efficiently
Conduct initial interviews and background checks
CANDIDATE ASSESSMENT & MATCHING
Evaluate teaching experience and expertise (through interviews and portfolio review)
Assess cultural fit and family interaction skills
Verify educational qualifications and certifications
Identify candidates capable of adapting to different learning styles
FAMILY-TUTOR PLACEMENT
Match qualified tutors with family needs and preferences
Conduct follow-up assessments of placements
Gather feedback from families on tutor performance
Make adjustments to placements based on results
HIRING PIPELINE MANAGEMENT
Maintain organized candidate database
Track time-to-hire and quality metrics
Generate reports on hiring effectiveness
Forecast staffing needs based on growth
ONBOARDING & SUCCESS TRACKING
Coordinate orientation and training for new hires
Ensure tutors understand family expectations
Monitor first 30/60/90 days of placement success
Maintain records of tutor performance and student outcomes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
3+ years of hiring and recruitment experience
Proven success recruiting for education/tutoring sector (preferred)
Experience with job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.)
Strong interview and assessment skills
Ability to identify cultural fit and soft skills
Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic tracking systems
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple candidates simultaneously
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:
HR certification (SHRM, etc.)
Experience with Thumbtack or service-based platforms
Teaching background or education industry knowledge
Familiarity with remote hiring processes
Data analysis and reporting skills
Experience with family-based service matching
