Role: Finance Manager
Reports to: Operations and Sales Director

Overview
To manage and develop the finance team in providing key financial details to the Directors and Executive Board. You will be an experienced management accounts professional and line manager, who has strong financial control skills and the ability to challenge stakeholders at all levels. The right candidate needs to be able to deliver a significant short, medium and long- term impact for an innovative fast-moving, growth focused company.
Candidates must have experience working for a UK based business and have extensive knowledge of how UK based finance works.
Responsibilities
• Participate in all financial reporting and produce internal reports, including month end management accounts.
• Oversee the purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control functions, ensuring full compliance to statutory requirements.
• Running and filing the VAT returns as needed, UK and the EU as these come on board, along with all the associated backup saved.
• Supervise and manage the finance team.
• Provide monthly reporting of variances and cost reduction opportunities and present this to the Finance Director and Managing Director.
• Work with company sales and purchasing departments’ forecasts to improve cashflow and inventory control.
• Suggest and implement updates and improvements for the accounting systems.
• Establish appropriate processes and controls to ensure all financial transactions across departments are properly recorded and reported on agreed schedules.
• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with all regulations and legislation.
• Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations and drive a culture of accuracy.
• Preparing for, leading, and managing the annual audit with external auditors.
Specific Skills and Experience
You will have excellent organisational, analytical, and planning skills to manage a varied workload, whilst being a strong communicator, interacting with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA ) AAT level 4 Required, as well as having a solid business growth-based understanding and how it relates to finance in practice.
Essential
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent.
• Previous line management experience.
• A passion for finance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal Excellent Performance Manager.
• Agile and dynamic, with an ability to embrace and deliver change at pace.
• Ability to interrogate and scrutinise data and identify errors and opportunities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
• An ability to work on a number of projects at any one time.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel Level A3, competent with IT software.
