We run a fast growing faceless YouTube channel built on real police bodycam footage, encounters that start routine and unexpectedly escalate into pursuits, resistance, or arrests. The style we are going for is the channel Midwest Safety
Please read carefully, because this role is about OBTAINING FOOTAGE, not just finding cases.
We need someone who can run the entire process independently, from their own side:
Research and find strong viral worthy cases on their own, cases other bodycam channels have not done yet (news coverage is fine, we just want fresh finds)
Identify the correct agency and records division
Submit the FOIA / public records requests
Track every request in a Google Sheet and follow up with the agency until it is resolved
Obtain the actual bodycam or dashcam footage (Axon links, downloads) and the police or i
The footage is the number one priority. A great story with no obtainable footage is not useful to us. The police report is second. Everything else is secondary. We understand some agencies deny requests, take a long time, or charge fees, that is normal and we do not hold it against you. We judge you on your ability to run the full process and actually bring back footage.
The case types we want (routine to escalation):
Police pursuits and vehicle chases
Foot pursuits
K9 deployments and police dog captures
Drone and air unit assisted captures
Felony and high risk traffic stops
Traffic stops that escalate
DUI stops that escalate
Warrants discovered during a stop
Stolen vehicle recoveries
Road rage i
Hotel and motel calls that escalate
Suspicious person and welfare check calls that escalate
Disorderly or belligerent subjects
Trespassing calls that escalate
Kidnappings and abductions
Assaults on police officers
Teens behaving recklessly on camera
Repeat offenders
Bizarre or unusual police encounters
What makes a case strong is a routine situation that turns intense, the suspect loses control, resists, flees or threatens, a third party gets involved, or the situation keeps escalating on camera.
Who we are looking for: someone with real hands on experience actually obtaining bodycam footage from US law enforcement, even a small amount, as long as you have successfully received footage before.
We are NOT looking for people who have only studied FOIA or prepared requests but never received footage, people who want to learn on the job, or generic VAs and copy paste researchers.
To apply, start your message with the words ESCALATION FOOTAGE. If you do not start with that, we will know you did not read the post.
Then answer:
Have you personally obtained bodycam or dashcam footage from US agencies before, approximately how many times, and which agencies or states
Have you received Axon evidence links or footage downloads directly from departments, describe one example
How do you find viral worthy police cases that other channels have not covered yet
How do you track requests and follow up with agencies that go quiet
How do you charge and what is your rate
How many cases can you realistically pursue per week
This is a long term position for the right person. Pay starts per case while we test fit and grows as the channel grows.
