JOB OVERVIEW

Field Nine Group is a portfolio media company working with newsrooms, universities, and mission-driven organizations. We're hiring a full-time graphic designer to join our in-house studio and produce design work across client projects and our own brands.

The work
You'll design a steady mix of client and internal work — social graphics, presentation and report design, branded templates, marketing assets, and content for our publications and product brands. You'll work alongside our existing design team, providing coverage during American hours so projects keep moving across time zones.

The style we're looking for
Clean, polished, and professional. Our work is editorial and brand-driven, made for newsrooms, universities, and mission-driven organizations, so it needs to feel credible and considered rather than flashy or generic. We care about typography, restraint, and consistency with established brand systems.

Hours — please read carefully
This is a full-time role working American business hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Eastern Time. This is non-negotiable. Please only apply if you can reliably commit to these hours long-term.

Tools
Figma is our primary tool and you should be genuinely strong in it. Canva proficiency is also required. Familiarity with the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a plus.
What you'll need to be strong here

Strong, demonstrable design fundamentals — typography, layout, color, hierarchy
Real fluency in Figma, plus comfort working in Canva
The ability to work within existing brand systems and keep output consistent
Dependable turnaround and an organized approach to revisions
Reliable communication during US Eastern working hours

Compensation & structure
This role begins as a three-month contract, starting immediately. Compensation during the contract is $700/month, full-time. At the end of the three months, strong performers will be offered long-term employment with a salary increase to [$800–$900]/month. We'll review progress with you at the midpoint so there are no surprises. This is a real path, not a trial-and-discard.

How to apply — follow these steps exactly

Email
your application to ---------- submitted through the job portal will not be reviewed.
Please include:

A short note on why this role fits you
A portfolio or work samples that include Figma files or Figma project links. We want to see your actual Figma work, not only exported images.
Confirmation that you can work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM US Eastern, full-time
When you could start
