We are seeking a sharp, self-directed Senior Accountant to join our firm. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership of their work, thinks critically, and can deliver accurate, high-quality bookkeeping and accounting services across a portfolio of small business clients with minimal oversight.
This person should thrive in a fast-paced, multi-client environment, bring genuine initiative to their work, and hold themselves to a high standard without being managed closely.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, including transaction coding, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accuracy and attention to detail
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, inconsistencies, or unusual items proactively, without waiting to be asked
- Review financial data for reasonableness and flag issues with clear, well-organized context
- Communicate with clients and internal tea
- Support the accounting team during busy periods and assist with ad hoc client needs as they arise
- Maintain organized, well-documented workpapers and client files
**Required Qualifications**
- CPA preferred; strong candidates with equivalent experience will be considered
- 3+ years of experience in a public accounting or accounting firm environment -- required
- Solid working knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting services
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop; experience with other accounting platforms a plus
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- High attention to detail and a track record of producing accurate work independently
