Role Overview
You will lead the creation of the entire brand identity for a proposed specialty cafe from logo and visual systems to menus, packaging, and storytelling. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong graphic design expertise and the ability to support marketing direction alongside brand development.
This role goes beyond design execution. You will help shape brand strategy, visual direction, and early marketing foundations, ensuring the café brand is cohesive, distinctive, and ready for launch.
This is a highly collaborative role. You will work closely with the Project Lead, who defines the overall vision, positioning, and strategy of the cafe. You are expected to actively brainstorm, propose creative ideas, and contribute to both branding and marketing strategies, helping to translate the vision into a cohesive, scalable, and emotionally resonant brand.
We are looking for a creative and strategic Brand / Creative Lead to help build the complete identity of a specialty cafe brand from the ground up. This role combines branding, graphic design, and creative direction, working closely with the Project Lead to shape the café’s visual identity, storytelling, and marketing foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop the café’s brand identity, including logo, color palette, typography, and visual style
• Design brand assets such as menus, packaging, merchandise, posters, and social media materials
• Create and maintain brand guidelines for consistency across all touchpoints
• Collaborate on brand positioning, messaging, storytelling, and marketing direction
• Support launch campaigns, content direction, and customer experience branding
• Coordinate branding alignment with interior design and overall café experience
• Prepare presentations and marketing materials for stakeholders
• Use tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Notion, and Google Workspace
• Work independently in a fast-paced startup environment while remaining open to revisions and collaboration
Qualifications:
• Strong experience in branding, graphic design, and creative direction
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, and related design tools
• Strong understanding of brand storytelling, visual identity, and marketing strategy
• Organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented
• Experience in hospitality, café, restaurant, or lifestyle branding is a plus
• Comfortable using Hubstaff for time tracking
