JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT US

We are a growing business ecosystem guided by classical operational principles of stewardship, order, and progress. We pride ourselves on hands-on prototyping. We quickly build functional, "vibe-coded" mockups and workflows that prove a business concept works.

Now, we are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Online Filipino Specialist (OFS) to serve as our Backend & Automation Developer. Your primary mission will be to step in behind our prototype logic, refactor it, clean it up, and make it bulletproof, performant, and production-ready.

ROLE OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a flexible, highly focused part-time position requiring 5 to 10 hours per week. You will be working directly with the business owner asynchronously.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

T-SQL Refactoring & Optimization: Reviewing draft SQL queries built for dashboards, rewriting inefficient joins, implementing proper indexing, and formatting code to ensure peak database performance.

Python Script Optimization: Reviewing, modularizing, and optimizing existing Python scripts. This includes adding structured logging, implementing clean error-handling blocks, and managing API payloads.

N8N Workflow Orchestration: Building and organizing workflows within N8N to automate backend tasks. You will manage and refactor API calls, handle webhooks, and map data across platforms.

Asynchronous Collaboration: Reviewing video walkthroughs (such as Loom screen recordings) detailing project specifications, asking clarifying questions, and independently delivering optimized code.

REQUIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL STACK

Database Management: Strong proficiency in T-SQL / MS SQL Server. You must understand query optimization, indexing, explicit joins, and database security best practices.

Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python for backend scripting, data manipulation, and working with REST APIs (using libraries such as requests, json, pandas, etc.).

Automation Workflow Tools: Direct, practical experience utilizing N8N (or closely related node-based automation platforms like Make or Zapier) to build and troubleshoot API integrations.

Quality Assurance Mindset: Strong code optimization skills. You should naturally write self-documenting code with clear variable naming, modular structures, and comprehensive error handling.

Communication: Exceptional written English. Because this role is asynchronous, you must be comfortable tracking down task details independently and articulating technical concepts clearly via text or video.

WORK SCHEDULE, EXPECTATIONS, & CULTURE

Weekly Hours: 5 to 10 hours per week.

Flexible Schedule: You can work your own hours during the day or night. We value output and code quality over the exact time on the clock.

No Micromanagement: We do not use invasive, screenshot-taking time-trackers. Instead, we gauge your value based on the elegance, readability, and reliability of your code.

Daily Reports: To keep tasks moving smoothly, we require a quick, simple end-of-day email report answering three questions (even if you worked 0 hours that day):
What did you work on/complete today?
What roadblocks or issues did you encounter?
What are your next steps?

Culture of Ownership: We encourage an environment of high accountability and low fear. We expect you to speak up if our prototype logic is flawed. Your job is to point out mistakes, suggest better architectural patterns, and systematically take ownership of the code quality.

COMPENSATION & TRUST-BUILDING TERMS

Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate based on technical experience and depth of skills. Let us know your expected hourly rate in your application.

Weekly Payments: To build mutual trust and assure you that we are a legitimate, reliable partner, we will establish weekly payments for your first two months of employment, transitioning to bi-weekly or monthly payments afterward based on your preference.

Growth Opportunity: While this role begins at 5–10 hours per week, there is a clear opportunity for your hours and responsibilities to scale as our systems grow and your integration with our workflows deepens.

HOW TO APPLY (READ CAREFULLY)

Because code quality, precision, and attention to detail are critical to this role, we use a strict screening process to filter out generic, copy-paste applications.

To apply, please reply via email with the following exact subject line:
???? "I love clean SQL and Python workflows! Ready to optimize your systems."

In your application message, please answer these three questions:

N8N Experience: What is your experience level with N8N? Provide a brief description of a complex workflow or API integration you have successfully automated using N8N.

SQL Optimization: In your own words, what are the first three things you check when a client hands you a slow-running SQL query that is dragging down dashboard performance?

Refactoring Workflow: Tell me about a time you had to take over someone else’s unpolished code or quick prototype. What did you prioritize to turn it into production-ready software?

Please note: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a short, paid test task (under 1 hour) to demonstrate SQL optimization and scripting standards.
