JOB OVERVIEW

L1 Support Technician - Infrastructure Hosting (Remote, 24/7 Shift)

FDC Servers operates bare metal, VPS, and networking infrastructure for clients across North America and Europe. Our support team is the operational backbone - the people who diagnose problems, coordinate fixes, and make sure clients know what's happening and when.

We're hiring L1 support technicians for a 24/7 shift-based team. This is not a copy-and-paste role. Every ticket is a real problem for a real client. The job is to figure out what's actually wrong, communicate clearly, and see it through to a real resolution.

COMPENSATION: USD $1,000-$1,800/month, depending on experience. Full-time, 40 hours/week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Handle inbound tickets across infrastructure, networking, and hardware - diagnosis first, response second
- Write internal notes detailed enough that the next shift can continue without re-investigating from scratch
- Coordinate remote-hands tasks with data center technicians, with clear scope and verification requirements
- Escalate to network/systems engineers when an issue is out of scope - with specific details, not just "please check"
- Follow up on open items without being asked. If you set an expectation with a client, you own tracking it.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You read the full ticket thread before you respond. You verify a server is actually accessible before telling a client it is. When you spot something wrong next to what you were asked to fix, you flag it instead of leaving it for someone else. Your notes describe what you found and what you did - not just that you looked. You handle frustrated clients like a professional and calibrate your reply to the situation. You know the difference between "I don't know" and "this is out of scope," and you escalate each correctly.

TECHNICAL BASELINE
- Linux command line - comfortable diagnosing and executing without looking up every command
- Networking fundamentals - IP addressing, VLANs, ping vs. SSH vs. application access, basic routing
- Hardware familiarity - disk types, SMART data, basic server components
- Clear, specific written English for client-facing communication
- WHMCS experience is a plus. Certifications are not required and don't substitute for the above.

SCHEDULE: 24/7 shift rotation. Shifts assigned based on coverage needs and timezone.

LOCATION: Remote.

Note: We only review applications from ID-verified OnlineJobs.ph accounts.
